I needed to visualize a home renovation and furniture before making any final decisions, so I made an app.
Spacecraft: snap your room, drop in the thing you're eyeing (link, screenshot, showroom pic), and see it in your space in seconds.
Out now on iPhone 👇

Big update to The Clothing App on iPhone. A Liquid Glass redesign for iOS 26+, a new Fitting Room where you can try on clothes before you buy them, studio flat lays, and subcategories are back. Everything new, plus the link, is in the thread.

Version 3.1.9 is out now. Latest updates 👇
3.1.9
- Closet, list, and category tiles are now more compact, so you can see more of your closet at a glance without scrolling
- New Items | Outfits toggle in lists and closets — jump straight to your outfits or outfit categories instead of scrolling past all your item categories
- The same quick toggle is available when adding clothing to lists and calendar days
- Moving items or outfits now skips the closet selection step when you only have one closet
- Fixed an issue where scrolling through your outfits while planning what to wear could show the wrong outfit images — what you tap is now always what gets added
- Fixed calendar wears appearing one day earlier than the date you logged them in some timezones — your logged dates were always saved correctly and now display correctly too
- Fixed a category showing only a few items after moving items or outfits out of it — no more needing to leave and re-enter the category.
- "System settings" for first day of the week now follows your device's region and calendar settings instead of always starting on Sunday
- Fixed "Newest to oldest" and other sort options showing the wrong items and outfits in larger collections — sorting now applies across everything you own, not just what's already loaded on screen
- Fixed duplicate outfits occasionally appearing when loading more in long lists
- Smoother image loading when scrolling quickly through outfit grids
3.1.8
- Subcategories from Closet+ can now be imported and converted to tags. The items and outfits in subcategories get linked to their parent category, so you can filter within a category by tag.
- New tag filter in category screens
- Create items or outfits directly from an empty category, the category is preselected for you
- Creating an outfit from inside a category now preselects that category automatically
- Long category names now wrap neatly in dropdowns instead of running off screen
- Fixed dropdown menus appearing in the wrong position on the New Items and New Outfit screens
- Color codes no longer appear in the tag filter list
Various other bug fixes and improvements
3.1.7
- “Select for me” in the calendar now prefers choosing existing outfits rather than separate items
- Bug fixes and improvements
3.1.6
- Insight screen additions
- Home + Insight screen bug fixes
Man, the App Store submission process has gotten way more frustrating since my last submission over a decade ago. Repeated rejections without providing any context about the issues, so I just have to keep guessing? This is going to take a while.

It feels like a huge waste going hard on marketing with only a web app, but maybe that's dumb?

🚨 Last Call! 2 days left to get The Clothing App Premium for 20% off!
✨ Get: Unlimited uploads, AI stylist, AI categorization, custom fields & themes, priority support, virtual try-on, analytics & image tools (coming soon) + mobile app early access
Code: TCALAUNCH20
I started "vibe" porting this app to @reactnative/@expo. I tried twice, once with Claude Code, and once with Cursor + GPT-5. Both started out strong, but the further into the port they got the more broken things became and eventually went down unrecoverable rabbit holes. Even going task-by-task with a PRD.
I think vibe-coding works well with smaller projects, but starts to fall apart on larger codebases.
Now I'm back to manually building the app for full control, mixed with vibe-porting components one-by-one. That seems to be a mix that works well.
🚀 It's been 2 weeks since @theclothingappp launched and we're thrilled to see so many transforming their closets!
✨ Building digital closets, planning outfits, getting AI styling tips - loving the community response!
⏰ Don't forget: TCALAUNCH20 for 20% off premium features, such as unlimited clothing uploads, our AI Stylist, custom themes, custom fields, and much more, expires Aug 31st!
📱 Native apps for iOS and Android are in the works! 👗
I finally launched this thing.
If you’re not like me who wears the same thing every day, and you stress about making outfit decisions each morning this tool might be able to help. 👇
Finally getting close to launching this thing. Taking some time off from contract work did the trick.
