Looking at the huge chaos surrounding the whole situation with chainsawroll’s art, I feel so disappointed and depressed.
You draw too well = you’re AI. You draw like a beginner = you’re AI. You make even the smallest mistake = you’re AI.
You can get harassed for pricing your art too low, for pricing it too high, for literally anything. People can simply try to profit from the controversy surrounding your work and turn you into a joke.
Taking a long time to finish an artwork is normal, especially when it’s a large piece or goes through changes during the process. Everyone works at their own pace. Making mistakes is normal. Creating something that isn’t absolutely perfect is normal. Charging high prices for your work is normal, people shouldn’t be looking into each other’s wallets. And it’s just as normal for beginner artists to charge lower prices or make more mistakes.
Living in the age of AI, our main priority should be supporting other artists, not harassing them. It’s frightening how many people are willing to turn this into a witch hunt and spread this kind of attitude toward each other instead of respecting other people’s work and understanding that we’re all human.
