It’s happening in more and more cities more frequently. True discipline and consequences are the only way out of this. Good luck after making 18 years of excuses and letting everything go.
🚨#BREAKING: The mayor of the North Carolina town of Greenville has just signed a PROCLAMATION OF EMERGENCY and BANNED all "teens" from downtown after 10PM.
The Proclamation of Emergency comes after HUNDREDS of "teens"began BEATING EACH OTHER IN THE STREETS and SWARMING businesses, terrifying residents and patrons.
Police spent over 6 HOURS trying to control the chaos.
True story…
We watched Toy Story 3 last night.
And it hit me how fast life goes.
At the end, Andy is heading off to college.
So he gives his toys to a little girl named Bonnie.
They sit on the floor and play together.
Laughing. Imagining. One last time.
And it hit me…
Andy was Bonnie not that long ago.
My oldest is 8.
It feels like yesterday she was 3, sitting on the floor playing just like that.
It’s going fast.
I mean fast.
While that scene was playing, my 3-year-old looked at me and said,
“I love you, dada.”
I swear time froze.
Because one day I’ll be loading a car and sending my kids off to college too.
No more toys.
No more little voices.
Parents. Don’t rush this season.
You’ll miss it when it’s gone.

A Christmas morning reflection…
95%
By the time your child turns 18, you've spent ~95% of the time you will ever spend with them in your lifetime.
There are specific windows, much shorter than you care to admit, during which certain people and relationships will occupy your life.
You may have only one more summer with all of your siblings. Two more trips with that old group of friends. A few more years with your grandpa. A handful of encounters with that coworker you love. One more long walk with your parents.
If you fail to appreciate these windows, they will quickly disappear.
Time Wealth is about an awareness of these windows.
But more importantly, it’s about taking action against that awareness.
It's about recognizing that you are in more control of your time than you realize.
That you can take actions to create time with the people you love most.
That you can bend these curves.
That 95% is an average—and you’ve never wanted to be average in anything your entire life.
So, show up to that recital. Plan that trip with old friends. Grab that quick coffee. Go on that walk with your parents. Have that meal with your sibling.
In the end, it's not about the journey, it's not about the destination, it's about the company. The people along the way.
Cherish the people and the rest will fall into place as it should.

This is sad. Parents, stay close to your kids. Let them know they can come to you with anything.
My heart absolutely breaks for Bryce’s parents.
These con artists are murdering our children while Big Tech turns a blind eye. It is sickening.

Make the call.
Send the text.
Forgive as Christ forgave you.
Tell them you miss them.
Let go of the grudge.
Choose kindness.
Love people the way Jesus loves you, today.
#raindelayquestions What’s your favorite thing to do in Metro Detroit?
I don’t mind different jerseys but it’s chaos currently.
Make these the rules
Whites for home games
Primary color for road games
Alternates can be worn for special games/dates
Throwbacks can only be worn in traditional rivalry games.
Agreed. Connect the eras. It’s time to bring it back. Once the playoffs are clinched, make it happen @DetroitPistons

Want your kids to succeed? Praise effort and grit not talent.
Fascinating study.

If I had seen this 15 years ago I would have done it.
When your child is born, create a dear(kidname) at gmail account.
Then email them throughout their childhood with milestones, pictures, videos, memories, words of wisdom, etc…and give them the account log-in when they turn 18.
Essentially documenting childhood from the viewpoint of their parents.
And heaven forbid something happens to one of the parents, they’ll always have those notes from Mom/Dad.
We’ve done this for all 3 of our daughters (currently ages 9, 7, and 3). We’ve never logged into the accounts, but it’ll be a priceless gift for everyone once the ‘project’ is complete.
I often find myself getting emotional when writing these emails. The thought of my 18-year-old daughters reading notes from a younger version of Dad gets me every time.
I sign each email “I’m lucky to be your Dad”. They need to know I felt this way all along.
(we got this idea from an old Google commercial called "Dear Sophie" – I’ll try to link to it below)

We're in a restaurant bubble
To now the point where going out to eat doesn't even make sense anymore.
Just last week...
PANERA: Family of 6 (4 young kids) - 6 entrees & 6 drinks was $73.
LOCAL GRILL: 6 entrees, 2 waters & 4 kid drinks - $78 (they also charged me a surprise 3% fee for using a CC)
Effing iHOP: 2 bfast sandwiches, 4 plates of kids pancakes, 4 chocolate milks - $60 lol (doesn't a pancake cost $0.10 to make)
Even Chick Fil A is $55+ for each trip.
We used to eat out 5-10x per week... now it's just not worth it.
As credit card bills mount in America, I expect many restaurants at these prices will get desserted (pun intended)
Already happening in small biz retail starting last year.
Restaurants next.
