My personal thoughts in The @Guardian on how soccer leaders around the world have a duty to protect the sport and save FIFA from itself by opposing Infantino’s egotistical and transactional vision of the beautiful game: theguardian.com/football/202…

Concacaf and its 41 Member Associations welcome the withdrawal of the proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE).

My thoughts in @nytimes: Infantino’s disdain for good governance has pushed FIFA to a breaking point. To defeat his egotistic and transactional vision of soccer, Federations around the world need to oppose not only his current scheme but Infantino himself.

Proud of Concacaf coming together to reject Infantino’s attempt to sell out the soul of the sport to private interests 💪⚽️

When I wrote this, some called it “blistering” & “scathing.” Given what we’ve learned since, it wasn’t harsh enough. Soccer’s soul is not Infantino’s to sell; Federations must reject his hypercommercialized and autocratic leadership of the game. Good for @UEFA for drawing a line.

The World Cup is the pinnacle of soccer, but our mission is to grow the game from the very top to the grassroots. That's why it was a priority this summer to also visit some members who didn't host any games (AK, MT, UT). When we say we're growing #SoccerEverywhere, we mean it!
🙌🏼🏆 LOS SUEÑOS SE CUMPLEN.

Funnily enough, I was in Alaska (what @Simon_Hughes__ calls American soccer’s final frontier) the same week this was written, precisely to hear from our grassroots members about how @ussoccer can help them grow #SoccerEverywhere. And yes, I did run into a bear! ⚽️🐻 – at Juneau, AK
There is one American state that soccer has barely reached.
Yet a player born there has featured for Mexico in the 2026 World Cup, and plays club football for Spanish giants Atletico Madrid
Welcome to Alaska, U.S. soccer's final frontier.

I wrote about my soccer visit to Alaska, as well as recent trips to Seattle and Salt Lake City, in my World Cup Dispatch #2 for Seeing the Present, my free soccer newsletter: open.substack.com/pub/natgol…
It's gameday in Seattle! I’m incredibly lucky to experience this World Cup from a unique perspective thanks to my role at @ussoccer, so I'm providing a small window into what I’m seeing & hearing during these five weeks through my newsletter, Seeing the Present. Link below! 🌎🏆
