Almost any line of business system would be better off written in F# than C#. C# still has a place in "lower level" .NET code such as core frameworks where mutability is still important for performance reasons. But that use-case doesn't need any of these recent C# "enhancements"

"Britain faces unprecedented squeeze, warns IFS" We're 18 years in on this story and only now is it making headlines. jfc

What do you do when one of your Azure VMs just starts being in a "Degraded (unplanned)" health state for over a week now? We tried "Redeploy" and it worked for about 18 hours before becoming Degraded again. The VM itself seems fine, but this is concerning nonetheless...

Using agents effectively on greenfield codebases is actually 10x harder than brownfield codebases Nobody seems to talk about that though...

Can Apple or Google last even 6 months without moving the goalposts for what is required to submit a mobile app? I'm so tired of this shit. Regulate the app stores into oblivion.

The "RAF Fairford terror plot" should be renamed the "PIP Fairford terror plot" geddit?

Today I accepted Microsoft's Voluntary Redundancy Offer Unfortunately they rejected it and curtly wrote "do we know you?" 😒

"Streeting: Britain must be ready for war in 1,000 days" Wes Streeting sounds keen, let's give him some boots and a gun and see how he gets on 🤣

We have a VM in Azure UK South AZ1 that's been in a "Degraded" health status for 3 days. The VM itself seems fine, no issues we can see. What's going on? Surely I don't need to click a button to fix this? It would normally live migrate us to a different host. Something feels off.

AZ1 was at capacity, full utilisation, a few months ago. I'm not sure if that's changed. Not sure I want to hit that Redeploy button and face a VM not getting an allocation. Moving to another AZ seems impossibly hard.

I’ve heard several OAI people say there are unfixable bugs in hardware that are exploitable by AI models directly speaking machine code so even if we could solve software that’s not enough. We need defense to move faster than offense if that’s even possible we may just have a new normal that requires adapting to insecure software (bank transfers require going into a branch and taking a dna test 🤣😬)

"Docker is weird" -- orange site Docker is indeed the weirdest contraption ever conceived to workaround OS limitations... but this isn't news

If you're waiting for a Dotnet2Shell ti drop ... I think you're gonna be waiting a looongggg time

These people are ridiculous. Banks should have active failover across a minimum of a dozen DCs in any country they do business. Relying on 1 DC is stupidity of the highest order.

Publish a "Remote MCP" that only supports Copilot Publish a "Local MCP" that is only available through "npx" (what the fuck is that? (yes i know, but i don't want to know)) Don't be like Azure DevOps folks

I had codex produce a skill for itself of how to use the REST API for ADO Now I can do everything the MCP can do, and more, and all I need is a PAT token...
29
Utterly infuriating... use the correct tools. The typical ADO shop would have banned NodeJS from all their shit, so why expect it to just exist so casually?

"France's 10-Year Bond Yield Hits 5% for First Time Since 2002" It really feels like there's multiple currency crises brewing and there's a reckoning coming If these yields edge up even 1 maximum 2% more, it will tip these nations over a monetary cliff edge
