Parliament is back in session tomorrow and we're bringing the voice of the people to the halls of power.
At our caucus meeting earlier this month, we met with community organizers to hear about the work they're doing on the front lines of one of Canada's most expensive cities — from unions to food banks and housing organizers and many more.
While workers struggle to make ends meet, the Liberals have made it clear they're going to use this fall's session to attack the right to strike, push through privatization and more.
At this critical moment for our country, Avi Lewis and your NDP MPs are keeping up the fight for bold solutions to make life better for the many, not the money.
The same guy who was caught fixing the price of bread for years now claims that the big grocers have no control over prices.
Give me a break.
Canadians aren’t stupid. We see Galen getting richer and richer as grocery costs skyrocket. We know we’re being ripped off.
It’s time to break up the Big Grocery Cartel and drive down costs with a national network of public grocery stores that Canadians can actually afford to shop at.
Hamilton's steelworkers are at the heart of our economy, and we won’t stand by while a Trump-aligned CEO tries to wipe them out.
Yesterday, I rallied with Stelco workers to protest Cleveland-Cliffs' layoffs and their overt sabotage of our steel industry. Stelco’s owner has admitted that he bought the company to take out the competition for his US steel mills.
Once our steel industry is gone, it’s gone forever.
It's time for the government to act before it's too late. Nationalize Stelco. Save these good union jobs. Put the steel industry into public hands.
That's how we take back control of our economy and build a stronger Canada for everybody.

What the powerful fear most is a movement united across our differences that stands up and fights back.
Bill C-39 is the biggest attack on labour, First Nations and the environment that we’ve seen since Stephen Harper. So we're building a coalition from coast to coast to coast to fight back.

While Canadians are going hungry, grocery giants are raking in profits. But it doesn't have to be this way. It's time for bold solutions that match the scale of this crisis — a public option for groceries and a complete ban on the new, creepy tactic called surveillance pricing.
You can help us fight for these solutions and take on corporate greed. Join the movement today: actionnetwork.org/forms/i-wi…

Shame! Liberals voted against the NDP bill to protect the right to strike. Even so-called “progressive” Liberals fell in line. The Carney government continues to put the interests of foreign investors over the rights of workers.
Here are the receipts:
The Liberals have shown their true colours.
They had their chance to stand with workers and protect the right to strike.
Instead, they stood with the corporations that want to exploit and squeeze them for all they’re worth.
The Liberals have chosen whose side they're on — and it isn't yours.

Avi Lewis on Stelco: "The CEO has admitted on CBC that he bought this company in order to take out the competition for his U.S. steel mills. And now he's violating the law by by laying off hundreds of workers potentially right before Christmas. This is obscene."

NEW: Today, the Liberals voted down MP @LeahGazan's bill to end government strikebreaking and protect the constitutional right to strike.
The NDP stands with workers; they chose to stand with the billionaires and corporate interests that are fuelling the crises that working people face every day.
But the fight isn’t over. The Liberals and Conservatives are teaming up to expand this undemocratic power and make life harder for workers with Bill C-39. The NDP and workers coast to coast to coast will be fighting back every step of the way.

New Democrats have repeatedly raised concerns about the UAE’s human rights record with the Liberals – including the UAE’s role in the genocide in Sudan.
Canada should not sign a trade deal with a country fueling genocide and weapons should not be shipped while this continues.

The Liberal government intervened to end legal strikes 10 times over the last three years. They did this by inappropriately using Section 107 of the Canada Labour Code. In several cases, they did only hours after job action began.
You don't make Canada strong by attacking the workers who keep it running. But the Liberals have gone after workers on strike again and again. Now, they're entrenching these attacks into law.
Today, Parliament is voting on MP @LeahGazan’s bill to scrap Section 107 and end government interference in strikes. The NDP will always stand with workers. The other parties will have their chance to show whose side they're on.
Email your MP now and tell them to vote YES to Bill C-247.
