Great thing about private groups? Much harder for researchers to access, so there is way less chance of being embarrassed by an investigation. Of course, it’s also much harder to detect an infiltration by malicious actors who seek to manipulate the group.
You don’t believe him either, do you.

I’m not sure why Microsoft selected a picture of a metal pipe with grip tape on it to introduce Windows Vista, but I’m sure they had their reasons.

Tomorrow morning, I will publish an article with the details of the vulnerability I found in the "super secure" messaging application of the French government. Stay tuned!

I've been working on Google's cryptography policy (for engineers). It fits in a tweet: Don't invent your own algorithms, don't design your own protocols, don't code your own implementations, don't manage your own keys, and do ask for advice.

I have received many questions about this video. I can’t debunk it without more info even if the camera can only do 10x zoom in video mode: it does have a 50x optical zoom in camera-mode. See the company spokesperson comment: businessinsider.my/this-vide…

I think the larger issue here is that many teams are structuring their entire workflow around a tool that relies on private Apple APIs (which are bound to change at any time). fastlane is awesome, but I would never put myself in a position where I can't keep working without it 🙂

One of the most useful questions you can ask in a startup is: How is what users want different than you expected? Are people using your product in unexpected ways? Are different people using it than you expected?

I've been looking at a bunch of kid-related devices and services lately, mostly relating to how parents can monitor and control their activities. It's just consistently horrifyingly bad; FUD-ridden at best, massive privacy violations at worst (i.e. data accessible to the public).
