I never heard Obama call anyone fat, talk about penises or asses, lie about an election he lost, or threaten to punch a protester. I never watched him turn the presidency into a spectacle of insults & bizarre behavior.

The idea that Tom Cruise won’t get an Oscar nod for Digger is utterly absurd.
We need to stop confusing a movie’s box office performance with an actor’s individual brilliance.
Cruise turned in a masterclass, and he shouldn't be penalized for studio politics.
An actor’s individual performance should be judged solely on its own merits.
The excuse that voters don't watch flops is a totally backwards mindset.
And ignoring a masterpiece just because the box office numbers aren't impressive is lazy filmmaking culture.

"The theater was packed. When it was finished the audience just sat there as the credits rolled.
Stillness. You know how rare that is for people to not jump up and start yammering or scrolling or move on to the next thing?
There was stillness and awe, gratitude and sorrow and astonishment both with the film and this world we have allowed.
This movie being slammed by reviewers is beyond comprehension.
Anyone who is dragging this piece through the mud should get a brain scan or see it again as they must not have been paying attention.
This is one of the most daring, original, provocative pieces of art I’ve seen and bravo to every person that laid a hand on it.
I’d have given my right arm to be an extra in this movie (I’m right handed).
This craft, like many other things nowadays, feels in peril. The systems at play encourage mass appeal above all else.
Digger is a battle cry for art, for waking up, for demanding an actual attention span of your audience and for the miracle of having a point of view.
To horrify, delight, wildly surprise repeatedly and inspire us to fight for our world before it’s too late is an incredible accomplishment.
Don’t listen to rotten tomatoes. Find an actual person who saw this movie. Listen to them.

My wife heard two nursing aides laughing about her mother's dementia in the hallway.
Her mom's been in memory care for eight months. Nice place, expensive, all the right certifications on the wall. My wife visits every other day.
She's walking back from the bathroom when she hears it. Two aides outside her mother's room, talking loud enough to hear.
"Did you see Helen trying to find her room again? Walked past it like six times."
Other one laughs. "I just let her wander. She'll figure it out eventually. Or she won't. Either way, I'm on break in ten."
My wife stands there, frozen. Her mother's name is Helen.
She walks around the corner. Both aides see her, faces change instantly.
"Oh, Mrs. Chen! We were just—"
My wife holds up her hand. "Save it. I heard exactly what you were saying."
They start backpedaling about stress and long shifts and she's taking it out of context.
My wife walks past them into her mother's room. Her mom is confused, asking where her room is. She's been standing in it for who knows how long.
My wife reported it to the director that day. Both aides were "retrained." Still working there.
She moved her mother to a different facility two weeks later. Costs more. Worth every penny.
Dementia isn't a punchline. 💔
