“The worst intersection in Richmond for pedestrians is North 17th and East Broad streets, home to a sea of surface parking lots and a cursed Exxon station. It was the site of 13 crashes involving pedestrians between 2015 and 2022, which resulted in 12 injuries and one fatality.”

I shouldn’t brag that this bad math with faulty inputs turned out to be dead on

They are adding a few more tellers to help count. With three more tellers, they could maybe finish around 4am if they go all night, per my back of the envelope math.

4 hour update: DPVA spox says they've counted approximately 3,500 ballots so far in VA-4 special. That's about 13% of the roughly 26,500 total ballots cast

Hearing there was about a 45 minute wait to vote in Richmond as of 11am and the line is even longer now.
I'm at the Democratic Primary at the Drag Bingo Hall at Diversity Thrift. This is the longest line I've been in and I've waited to get free burritos from Chipotle.

Line out the door at Dogtown Dance location too, but it’s moving fast — people in and out in about 10 minutes.

I spent a long day at a long meeting yesterday and I have 2⃣ recommendations for those who want to understand what's happening with history standards. Neither are my own. One is short and the other is long. 1⃣ From @nedoliver: axios.com/local/richmond/202…

Striking moment midway through press conference on UVA shooting: Campus police chief handed piece of paper while speaking, looks up, says he's just received word suspect is now in custody. "I just need a moment to thank God; breathe a sigh of relief."

Correction: Chief was pulled aside and given the update verbally. (Apologies: I had looked away and when I looked back it appeared he was reading)

The media sued to get access to the tipline emails and the only reason anyone knows the tipline was shut down is because the media is in fact reporting it.
"Media ran a ton of racist propaganda stories about Critical Race Theory and got Glenn Youngkin elected by doing so. Of course they won’t follow-up in equal measure to inform people Youngkin's 'CRT tip-line'...was a fake issue." - @KaivanShroff bluevirginia.us/2022/11/frid…

In a statement just now, Youngkin's press secretary confirms the school tipline was shut down last month "as it had received little to no volume during that time."
