What's TekSavvy's take on yesterday's CRTC ruling that lets indie ISPs access big guys' fibre? It's not good - the wholesale rates are too high and the terms are too limited. This won't result in lower prices for Canadians: newswire.ca/news-releases/te…

A teacher in Texas reported one of her own students' families to child welfare services after stalking their Instagram page and identifying them as transgender. Luckily the family had already left Texas for Colorado after Governor Abbott ordered the state to persecute them.

ALT A few weeks after the hearing, Davis was assigned a second case. This time, a teacher told CPS officials that she had seen something on a child’s Instagram page. Davis thought the teacher shouldn’t be patrolling teenagers’ social media, but it was his job to investigate, so he called the family. The mother didn’t answer, but eventually, she called Davis back and told him they’d moved to Colorado two days after Abbott published his letter. “Oh, thank God,” Davis told her. “I’m so happy for you.”

Will people ever stop saying “the intern running the Twitter account?”
I’ve done paid social media work for 14 years. People get degrees in it now. And it tends to pay well. It’s so cringe to see people using 20 year-old tropes.

There is a place, a tiny hamlet at a road intersection north of Roscoe, N.Y., that simultaneously & without any contradiction, does and doesn't exist.
