Claude Code has a built-in file clerk, and on Opus 5.5 it bills like a senior engineer. It's called Explore. When Claude says it's exploring your codebase, this helper opens and reads your files. It can't edit anything, and it runs on the same model as your chat, so on Opus it reads on Opus and eats the same limit. Opus 5.5 costs $4 per million tokens in. Haiku 5.5 costs $0.10. In my own logs, Opus just reading files and pages came to $723 in 3 months. Anthropic's docs give the fix. Make your own helper named Explore, and it replaces the built-in one, model included: 1. copy the file from the reply 2. tell Claude Code "save this as ~/.claude/agents/Explore.md" 3. restart Claude Code 4. next time it explores, type /tasks. The Explore row names the model, it should say Haiku One trap: there's also a setting that moves every helper to Haiku at once. Skip it, because it moves your planner to Haiku too. Move only the clerk. Do it before your next long session.

Do you use Symfony, Laravel, Drupal, Doctrine or PHPUnit and want to upgrade them automatically? You can forget the set crowds in rector.php and use single method in Rector config instead ⬇️ getrector.com/blog/your-comp…

Composer upgrade hack: Sometimes projects get stuck in a legacy state, not due to lack of motivation or finances, but because of immense complexity. Many projects have five dependencies mutually relying on each other, unable to untangle. One package requires Guzzle 5, another Guzzle 6, and another Guzzle 7. Composer crashes on an unresolvable matrix of circular conflicts. All or nothing? We can give up or use a "fake it till you make it" trick. We can tell composer.json that we use an old version but require a new one: "NEW as OLD" This way, the composer update runs successfully ✅ All our dependencies are installed. Double-check that CI is passing, and you're ready for the next PR 😉

Love to see established frameworks doing modern PHP features adoption 😇 I was worried to never see ideas like these in them: tempestphp.com/blog/unfair-a…
🚀Support for invokable commands will land in #Symfony Console 7.3. No need to extend the base Command class anymore 🎉 Input options/arguments are configured through #PHP #[Attributes]. And there is more to come!
