But the headline is, of course, her matrescence.
2017: Elina Svitolina loses to Simona Halep from match point up at #RolandGarros
2025: In her 150th major match, Svitolina defeats Jasmine Paolini from 3️⃣ match points down, the first time she's ever saved MP to win at a Slam 🤯

This is a great opportunity for young people interested in gaining an insight into tennis journalism at two of the sport's most prestigious venues.
I can personally attest to the generosity of Mike in helping younger journalists, and this is a fitting way to honour his memory.
Calling all those aged 18-24 with an interest in journalism and tennis...
The BTJA is launching the Mike Dickson Award, giving one person the chance to be a member of the media for a day at Wimbledon and the Queen's Club this summer.

Not saying WADA and ITIA have to agree on everything but could they maybe get the same dictionary for starters
Instantly pre-ordered for title and cover alone.
In the process discovered that 'big cat shapeshifting romance novel' is more of a genre than had previously realised.
Please, PLEASE pre-order my nineties, folksy, feline gothic novel The Cat Bride!

Available from the usual places!
No it isn't
No, because it's a really reductive/dismissive way of talking about a disability and perpetuates a stereotypical view of what ADHD is and how it presents, which continues to contribute to wild inequalities in whose ADHD gets recognised, diagnosed and treated.

To add to all this frustration, got up on Sunday, the morning after Evans-De Minaur, excited to watch it back. Not available on demand (Sky Stream). That day's highlights not available on demand. Even *the* type of match you'd expect a UK broadcaster to cater to, I couldn't get
Oh yes ALSO THIS. I too missed the end of Zverev-Etcheverry because it was helpfully listed as a replay of the Washington final.
I know streaming tennis is hard but it's not as hard as Sky consistently makes it look.

It sucks. Early hours of Saturday morning I couldn't watch one of the matches being shown because it was confused about it being Day 6/7, and the only live USO tennis I could find was tagged as "ATP Washington Final".
I went for a walk & now feel like I should say something nice, so:
Laura Robson gets better & better as broadcaster. Undemonstratively but immensely knowledgeable, infectiously interested & unlike others, brings her Tour experience without compulsively making it about herself.
Oh yes, I have also heard a ton of complaints that the live TV stuff doesn't actually work half the time.

I am oldish so am watching on sky Q tv but the pain is bad there. The new sky sports + is so laggy and buffers all the time despite have good fibre broadband. It works better on ipad. My 80 year old tennis mad parents could navigate amazon and discovery much better. Aaaagh!!!
I mean, this. I'm not going to watch Zheng against Vekic in two days' time, because by then other things will have happened.

Yes it’s depressing. I really need the night session matches to be available to watch first thing in the morning!
There is absolutely no way that I would be paying for this if I didn't need it for my job. And a lot of tennis fans in the UK just ... aren't.
Again, evident Sky don't give a fuck, so fairly pointless tweeting about it, but the sheer egregiousness of the rip-off demands it.
And you know, it's not like Sky does anything BETTER than the other services we used to have/still have?
Maybe it would be different if there were aspects of the service that were better that offset how terrible they are at making matches available on-demand.
