True ownership of an NFT should include ownership of its information.
Right now it doesn’t. The moment most NFTs mint, everything inside them is public the art, the traits, the rarity, the stats. Anyone can read it, scrape it, or act on it before the holder even sees it. On a public chain, the data has never really belonged to the owner.
@FungoLabs is changing that with encrypted NFTs on Ethereum, built with Zama’s FHE.
The NFT stays public and tradable like any other. What’s inside it does not. The holder is the only one who can view the private data, and they decide what (if anything) becomes public. Smart contracts can still use the encrypted information for games, mechanics, or auctions without ever exposing it.
No one else can see it. Not the marketplace.
Not other holders. Not even the team.
That’s the difference between owning a token and actually owning what’s inside it.
