Mirror into Auntieverse is now available for acquisition!
A unique 19th century antique mirror that replaces your reflection with an auntie who looks you dead in the eye and tells you the truth.
Some mirrors flatter you. This one has opinions. 🧵

Auntieverse, Chapter No. 3, Factory #0298 // @niceaunties
Before AI art, Niceaunties spent about 20 years in architecture. This one is from her Factory chapter, where aunties make sushi under giant creatures.

"Still Life, Auntie's Kitchen" @niceaunties turns an 1895 pressed flower into aunties who spin plates the way it spreads its stems. Indoors in an Art Nouveau tiled kitchen (monoprint), or outside under Saturn (edition) - both on our exceptional handmade paper, from a 350-year-old oak.🌳

Chapter No. 1, Auntiecity #0087 // @niceaunties
"The Auntie City' depicts everyday life in the Auntieverse, a world both run and built by aunties."
Nice to see Auntiecity #0001 used as the lead image for @niceaunties’ recent W1 Curates presentation at Hï Ibiza.
Part of Auntieverse, Auntiecity imagines a city built and run by aunties, drawing partly from Archigram’s 1960s “Walking City” idea.
I collected #0001 2.5 years ago. Still one of the works that best captures how niceaunties turns absurdity into a fully realized world.

Free The Animals // @niceaunties
Free the Animals' narrates a story centred around aunties spending time with stuffed animals, engaging in conversation about what constitutes happiness for these toy creatures.
Somehow missed this earlier this year:
@niceaunties’ Auntieverse was the subject of a 22-page Cambridge University Press study.
All 1,000 works were reviewed; 40 were selected for deeper analysis.
A fascinating study of ageing and AI representation. More below ↓

To talk about @niceaunties is to step into a fascinating parallel universe: the Auntiverse, a surreal space where older women-the aunties so often overlooked by society-take center stage as the true protagonists. Based in Singapore, this artist has harnessed artificial intelligence and digital art to create a deeply reflective, humorously whimsical, and visually striking pop aesthetic.
Her portfolio presents impossible landscapes
—the Auntiescapes-where human anatomy seamlessly merges with nature: multi-layered terrains of dermis, blooming flowers, glowing crystals, wandering goats, and endless life cycles that invite us to re-examine aging and resilience through a fresh, poetic lens. Yet her practice expands far beyond the digital screen or the realm of NFTs and fine art prints; it bridges into the physical world through conceptual installations, interactive objects like antique mirrors that swap your reflection for honest wisdom, and global cultural discourse platforms such as TED talks.
Ultimately, niceaunties balances surreal absurdity with a deeply empathetic truth: reminding us that, at our core, there is an irreverent, wise, and endearing 'auntie' in all of us. #art #artists

Edible Creatures // @niceaunties
"Edible Creatures' draws inspiration from the raw food and fresh food culture in Asia, particularly in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean cuisines, where live animals are sometimes offered at restaurants for diners to select just before they are slaughtered and cooked.
This practice is believed to enhance the freshness and taste of the dishes."
