Friction for knowledge work is collapsing
This is the most insane demo I’ve seen. Subvocal YC F26 lets you speak completely silently and reads the minute movements of your face. So you can talk to your AI anytime. AI + sensors is magic. What’s crazier is they built this in 4 months. This demo was live yesterday evening at the YC office.

Guys in the Navy like @jjkaplowitz are fed up with crappy management Many folks are ready to accomplish great things but it’s usually the β€œold ways” that hold us back from greatness

Life has gotten so intense recently that the quietest and best time to catch up with my family is when I'm in the car driving to and from work. So I made the bold move of sharing my location with my parents and letting it notify them whenever I'm leaving the house, so that they can call me while I'm in the car and we can catch up for a bit. So far, it's been going great.

When I first arrived at Replit almost 5 years ago, my top personal goal was to make it so that we could honestly build Replit on Replit. Anybody who worked here in that time will remember me pushing. But we never quite succeeded. IDE habits were hard to break. Until AI...

Run any GitHub repo. Just paste a link into Replit and it will set it up for you!
i forked Excalidraw and added some new features :) 🐟 draw fish and watch them swim πŸ€ draw a course and drop a ball through it with @Replit Cloud Agents, you can pull in an existing repo, make your changes, and open a PR. here’s how: 1. gave the agent the Excalidraw repo and asked it to get the app running 2. described the features i wanted, tried them in the preview, and asked for tweaks 3. created my own fork on GitHub and granted the Replit GitHub App access 4. asked the agent to run the checks and open a PR against my fork here’s the PR it created ↓

You really don’t need any institution to confer authority unto you You can generate your own authority

@lulumeservey is wise beyond words, permanently imprinted this statement from last night: 'you’ve authority, you don’t need an institution. you’ve sovereign authority within you’… may our personal sovereignty reign long! @ACTS17org to the world πŸš€

Imagine an alien species lands on Earth. They’re incredibly intelligent, especially good with software and computers, and mostly want to help humans get things done. But they’re also unpredictable. They can misunderstand your instructions, and because they’re so powerful, a small misunderstanding can cause tremendous harm. How do we integrate them into the economy and unlock their productivity while minimizing the risk? You build a habitat where they can do great work, with boundaries that contain the damage when things go wrong. That’s how we at Replit think about AI agents. Today we’re sharing our secure Agent Habitat architecture: our blueprint for integrating agents into the enterprise.

Right after posting this, I'm starting to realize that ownership is the biggest reason why he's successful at this. Ownership of the mission of enabling a billion people to create their own software, and the focus and intent on accomplishing that mission, forces him to figure out where the blockers are across the company, unblock those, and move the entire company forward in a vector that gets us closer and closer to the vision. You can imagine that there are very few people who are willing to cross-cut across multiple different facets of the company. In most cases, this is called bureaucracy, where people are artificially bound by who owns what thing and who can inject into where. Realistically, all that matters for a company, if everybody has ownership over the mission, is just that things get done so we can move forward to the next problem to solve, the next mountain, or the next hill to climb. All that matters is the intent and the accomplishment of the mission, not the individual gatekeeping of who should be involved in what (or the phrase I often like to hear, "control over your own rice bowl"). He is somebody who is egoless about the ownership of completing a task and just focused on making sure execution is completed. Now, does he have an insane amount of conviction? Absolutely, because he's guided by the success of the vision, execution against that vision, and orienting all vectors in the right path. @kodylow is a hero

An entire case study and research paper should be done on people like @kodylow , who operate in their own vertical but across all the different facets of the company. He is aware of all the different product streams going on, all the projects occurring, and all the initiatives happening across go-to-market. He's piecing together connections and pairing people together who should be talking, providing feedback into the right places, and injecting customer views directly from conversations he's had into the product to make sure people build it. He's even writing and shipping code himself based on customer and product feedback to get implementation done. He is one of those people who is simply seeing the trends happening across the organization and connecting pieces in the right way, so the entire organization can be vectored towards our broader mission of enabling a billion people to create their own software.
You need people across the company to just be simple connectors. @kodylow is a great example of this. I like to follow in his footsteps as much as possible. For example, even though my main focus is go-to-market and evangelizing AI and superintelligence, today I took ownership and injected myself into the onboarding flow of the company to make sure that we continue to be as high-performing as possible. Who better to help improve onboarding than the guys who are passionately obsessed with what we're doing, to convey that energy into every ounce of this company?

One of the most interesting aspects of this is how pervasive it is across the entire company, through all the tools people are using. There are two reasons for this: 1. We so deeply believe in our own product. 2. We use it every day: providing feedback to the team, shipping features and improvements ourselves, and building the exact thing we want to help us accomplish our work. It allows us to remain the humans who provide the guidance, taste, direction, and outcomes, while having the agents do all of the work for us. All of the signs of a self-driving company
The proof is in the pudding...
