7 hours ago we quietly launched Mochi.
A step counter where every step grows your little buddy.
No big launch and huge audience but two 18/19 year olds trying to turn a small idea into an app millions of people use.
This is day 1.
Remember the name: Mochi - walk buddy
Yeah, we need opinions from others, does it look good?
We tried our best to make the best gamified step app in this app world.
the weirdest part about trying to build something big at 18 is that your normal life doesn’t stop.
you still have school.
you still have homework.
you still have bad days.
you just have this other life you’re trying to build at the same time.
what are you genuinely trying to accomplish before 2027?
not the answer that sounds good. the actual goal.
i think the biggest advantage you can have is being obsessed with improving your own life.
not competing with your friends.
not trying to look successful.
not proving anything to strangers.
just waking up and trying to become harder to recognize a year from now.
Still building. Still basically unknown.
Screenshotting this for when that changes.
3 signs you’re playing x, not building:
- you check views before you check the build.
- you rewrite the bio weekly
- you have 4 apps and 0 finished
Be honest.
when you see a $30M/mo game post, do you:
a) save it
b) know it’s an ad
c) still feel behind anyway
i hit the gym and still came home and delayed the real work.
training is easier than finishing the thing.
