Absolute banger of a paper! If you鈥檙e in SEO, this is worth every minute
We read 1,053,650 AI answers across 200 software categories.
Your AI visibility dashboard is mostly noise. Here's what we found:
1. Check a prompt once, and your visibility score is off by 14+ points. Basically, 30% visibility means 16-46%.
2. Ask ChatGPT the same question twice. 55% of the time, it picks a different #1.
3. Depending on the user context, ChatGPT's #1 pick changes up to 74% of the time.
4. ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini agree on the top brand in only 48% of categories.
5. Change one word in the question ("recommend" to "compare"), and one brand goes from 1% of answers to 100%.
6. Some tools put your brand name in the questions they ask AI. That made Supabase's visibility score jump from 62% to 93%.
7. The top brand shows up in 53% of answers when buyers shortlist. Only 24% when they decide.
8. Being big gets you mentioned, not picked. Companies older than 20 years get 33% of mentions but only 24% of #1 picks.
One of the coolest set of people to be working with 馃殌馃殌
We just raised $1.3M from @ycombinator and @BroomVentures to build AgentRel.
We help devtools with:
- Discoverability: does ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini recommend you or your competitor?
- Usability: where does Claude Code struggle with your product?
Profound, Peec, and most other AI visibility tools just measure noise, really. Every serious marketer knows this, and these companies know it too.
We do the opposite: we give you accurate data and help you act on it.
Reply with your brand name, and I'll set you up with a Pro workspace for free.

馃毃BREAKING: Nous Research has raised $90 million at a $1.5 billion valuation after its open-source Hermes agent exploded in usage.
Hermes has been downloaded 22.7 million times since February.
Nous was at roughly $36 million in annualized revenue by mid-September. It expects to pass $100 million later this year.

If I had to rank on AI search in <2 months, I'd write an original report and promote the shit out of it. It's a cheat code.
@greptile, one of our customers, does it really well with their State of AI Coding report. Their moat is millions of lines of proprietary PR and code data, and they use it well!
It has 500 backlinks too.
You can replicate it today:
- Start with a topic your buyers care about
- Use data you have unique access to
- Show your methodology
- Make the findings easy to share with visuals and graphs
- Distribute each finding separately - repurpose into 100s of tweets and articles
ezy peasy

We killed our $50k monthly rev. docs business after YC and went back to $0. Now we're on track to cross $1M ARR with @manicule.
Here's why we did it.
For context, we started by writing technical docs for devtools companies. AI was making it much faster to write decent documentation. We kept improving our process and shipping pages faster, but eventually customers asked an uncomfortable question:
"What is the ultimate ROI you're bringing?"
When a founder's paying a $15K invoice, saying "it builds a brand" is not enough.
We needed to tie our work to business OUTCOMES.
I thought about it, and the ultimate problem we were solving was helping founders grow their business by making people/agents choose them. That's a bigger problem and requires more ownership - we need to do docs, SEO/AEO, off-page brand building, etc.
Essentially, customers needed AgentRel, or Agent Relations.
So, we expanded what we take responsibility for.
We help companies:
- Understand why buyers aren't finding you
- Build a strategy to fix that
- Create good technical content that influences revenue
- Do original research
- Build mentions
- Create good technical docs
- Be recommended by AI
And it's going great! It's a harder business to build, automate, and scale, but if it were easy, anyone could have done it.
I think the entire services industry will face some version of this. AI-native services have to own the business outcome, and that's also the moat. Software is a commodity, but bringing results isn't.

All the AEO/SEO tools are thermometers. If you have a fever, you need a doctor.
Personal blogs are back in style.
And they鈥檙e here to stay. When people write with zero expectations on their blog (website or any platform), they鈥檙e pouring their heart into it and readers feel it.
See @simonw鈥檚 writings for example.
Tech companies writing for SEO, aim for that quality first.
1/ Today, we're releasing the first open-source Computer History - now in early preview for Cua Driver on macOS, Windows, and Linux.
It gives agents an encrypted, local record of actions they took through Cua Driver, so new sessions can recover useful context from earlier work.

We just killed Exa, Tavily, SerpAPI, and Brave.
Your agent can now search & fetch any webpage for 100% FREE.
Them: $7 per 1,000 searches.
Us: $0. No subscriptions, no quotas.
Humans search Google for free. Agents shouldn't have to pay either.
Made possible by @Tiny_Fish and @MonidHQ.
Scale your content with AI.
But don't expect paid users because you have a 100 new blog posts.
In the devtools space, depth is highly valued (PS that's where Manicule wins)
Developers will talk about that "one blog post" for months after they've read it and keep sending you "traffic." (To be honest, I hate to call people "traffic" because what the heck are we even measuring then?)
Does this post mean I'm anti-AI? Absolutely not.
But I think it's 10x faster to use AI to:
- build your demo apps
- explain the architecture
- create architecture diagrams
- write draft v1
Once I have the right amount of context and understanding about what the AI did and the storyline behind the PRs it raised throughout the building, I can voice type the article section-by-section, adding interesting analogies, nuances, and insights from my experience.
That's a much more impactful piece compared to an AI written and AI edited piece.
Give this workflow a shot. You'll no longer waste the time people usually spend trying to understand what the AI wrote after the article is written.
You can read a diff and still not know what it means for the person using the product.
The answer is in a map you built before the change landed, or it's nowhere.
