WHAT TO DO IF YOU NEED TO CALL 999 BUT CAN’T TALK
When you call 999, an operator asks which service you require. If you remain silent and it’s an emergency, you’ll be asked to cough or make some other audible sound without speaking.
But what are you supposed to do if making any noise at all might alert an attacker to your presence and so you need to remain silent?
Simply press 55
This procedure is called Silent Solutions but very few people know it exists!
If you don’t cough or press 55 and are in danger or need help then your call will be ended.
It is hoped that by spreading awareness of the procedure, the emergency services will be able to act more efficiently and save lives.

Replying to @AlanPaceBFC @BurnleyOfficial
I just hope that this poor form for @BurnleyOfficial changes for the Blackburn game - 5 weeks away!
If it doesn’t, the atmosphere towards @AlanPaceBFC will be unthinkable…..I don’t think he really “gets” this club, despite his soundbites!
Every @BurnleyOfficial fan needs to read this to understand just how dodgy #ALK and @AlanPaceBFC are!
Yes, the majority seem to want them and him out, but we look screwed - massive debts, and even our players are hardly valuable assets now.
Serious, we need a reset!
Unbelievable!
Disgusting piece of sh*t @bphillipsonMP confirms that she thinks the rights of asylum seekers are more important than British people.
There is nothing left to say now.
Can @grok or the @metpoliceuk confirm this, and even more, can they justify it?

It’d be great to get a few extra supporters on Gigg Lane on Sunday for @BuryFcU21’s - tough opponent, but some good, emerging talent on display.
It’s free football folks!
Back in league action this Sunday at @OfficialSVH Gigg Lane Stadium.
Get along and support the Shakers!

Any comments from our respectable leaders @andyburnham @ShabanaMahmood - I suspect their silence will be deafening!
Make it make sense:
Peaceful protestors met with full public order gear, biolent protesters met with standard uniform and happily take abuse!
Absolutely baffling!
So, how do @HantsPolice justify what they did on Sunday?

🚨 LOOK AT THIS MOTHER'S FACE AND TELL ME LABOUR'S PRISON RELEASE WAS THE RIGHT CHOICE
Look closely at the woman in this photo, because her story exposes the absolute moral collapse of modern Britain.
Her name is Karen Haynes, a special needs teacher who dedicated thirty years of her life to helping vulnerable British children.
Today she is packing up her life, changing her family identity, and fleeing to the other side of the world with her two children just to stay alive.
Why?
Because Andy Burnham and Shabana Mahmood are freeing her violent former husband after he served barely a third of his sentence.
He terrorized her for 26 years, repeatedly threatening her that one phone call and one bullet was all it would take to put her six feet under.
Now, under Labour's early release scheme, 700 criminals walk out of jail today, while innocent victims are forced to run for their lives!!
Labour had plenty of empty cells to lock up citizens for posting opinions online, but when a terrified mother begs the state for protection, ministers open the prison gates for her abuser.
Anyone who still defends this Labour government needs to look Karen Haynes in the eye and explain why violent offenders get early freedom while innocent mothers are driven out of their own country.
Retweet this immediately to force Downing Street to look at Karen Haynes' face today. 🇬🇧🔥
What is going on?
Surely the bloke must have an approximate idea as to the cost………surely it would have been discussed?
🤦♂️ Another day. Another Labour MP. Another CAR CRASH interview.
This time it was Financial Secretary to the Treasury James Murray on @LBC, who appeared to know next to nothing about the Treasury’s own finances, much to Nick Ferrari’s mounting bemusement.
Murray was busy boasting about removing VAT from energy bills to “help families this winter”. Nick asked the most basic question imaginable: how much will that cost the Treasury?
Murray hadn’t a clue.
Nick tried again. And again. Getting more exasperated with every attempt.
Ferrari: “There must be a ballpark figure as to how much this is going to cost?”
Murray: “Yes, but I haven’t got that figure in front of me.”
Ferrari: “Hang on. You’re the Financial Secretary to the Treasury and you don’t know how much it’s going to cost you?”
Murray: “I haven’t got the figure in front of me right now, Nick.”
Ferrari: “Why not? Don’t you think it’s a fairly relevant figure, Secretary?”
Nick pointed out that Murray and his colleagues must have sat around and come up with the plan, and the cost, so he should obviously know the answer. Murray just kept repeating the same line: he didn’t have the figure.
Nick finally gave up: “Well I’ve asked four times and you haven’t answered. I find that extraordinary.”
The whole interview was like that. Question after question on a range of subjects. No answers. Just waffle. I don’t know why these people bother going on air. Pathetic.
I wonder if any of his constituents up in #Makerfield made reference to immigration whilst speaking to him?
🚨NEWS: Andy Burnham has said he will focus on fixing things that the Government has ignored for a long time
He believes these issues are:
Social care
Youth Unemployment
Nationalising Utilities
He failed to mention the NUMBER 1 issue for the British public which is immigration
Expect more of the same from yet another out of touch Prime Minister
These are valid points, and exactly why @labour @andyburnham @wesstreeting need to act with some integrity to reassure the British public - a bit of transparency wouldn’t go amiss!
I tried to gather my thoughts on the Fairford RAF incident but I have no clue what the hell is going on. Loads of theories but none of it's making much sense.
- Don't understand why 5 men in their 20s would drive 2 hours in transit vans to steal diesel from or near a high alert RAF airbase in the middle of the night and be outside of their vans when the farmer pulled up
- Don't understand what "viable explosives" actually means in this scenario
- Don't understand why their van read "Fuel 2 Go" and has a bogus number on it (What's the point of baiting yourself up like that if you're committing fuel crimes?)
- Don't understand why the farmer wasn't ever contacted by authorities as the key witness & informer
- Don't understand why they've been bailed & investigations are still ongoing. Surely to God they've had enough time to determine No Further Action if their story is legit & no "viable explosives" were present
- Don't understand how Wes Streeting & Trump both claimed there is a bigger picture here which they were on to, but authorities spent an entire day & a half "investigating" before releasing them
This is well worth the 20 minute watch!
He raises so many valid points that I would love people to watch this and argue against anything which he says.
Again, 20 minutes……….grab a brew!

I spent over two decades in counterterrorism and I’m still involved in many ways, so here are my views on what I see has happened over the past 24-36 hours in the UK:
Five British men in their twenties were arrested on Sunday near RAF Fairford on suspicion of explosives offences and the preparation of a terrorist act. On Monday they were released on police bail.
That’s not what the terrorism clock looks like when the investigators are still in charge of it.
Under ordinary UK criminal law a suspect can be held for 24 hours, stretched to 36 by a superintendent, and to 96 hours by a magistrate.
But under section 41 of the Terrorism Act the first hold is 48 hours, not 24 hours. A judge can then extend it, in stages, up to 14 days without a charge. If the case merits it, it can even be pushed to 28 days. That 14-day cap exists for exactly this kind of file of vans, an airbase the United States uses, a possible foreign hand, explosives (if there were any) and interviews that are not finished on the first night.
Counter-terrorism police said the inquiry isn’t over. They said conditions apply. They said a state link has not been ruled out. Those sentences he said only make sense if the evidence trail was still live. A live trail is why Parliament built the two-week window.
But watching the guy read out the statement showed me in his body language, tone and eye movements that releasing those five men was NOT his or his department’s decision.
Walking five men after roughly a day is what you do with a pub fight, not with a suspected terrorist attack on a bomber base.
I’ve sat in enough interrogation rooms to know the difference between a custody clock and a political ceiling. Nobody had to shout an order down a phone. Someone in the political building above the investigators decided that charging British nationals on Monday, with Iran already denying it, Washington watching the runway, and a Labour conference where the main topics of discussion were prioritizing Palestinian and other refugees settling in the UK, was uglier than bail and a holding statement.
The law allowed them to keep the door shut. Yet the door opened anyway in half of the most minimum time.
That’s the story. That for me is the only story here. Not “they were innocent.” Not “the case collapsed.” The statute was not exhausted, but the appetite was.
The real question is who, and most importantly, why?
