Hi everyone, we're sharing this statement from GMIAU about the far-right presence in town and Longsight/Levenshulme this Saturday. Please be careful if you're in those areas, and try not to be there alone.
Document with GMIAU's logo at the top. Text: Staying safe On Saturday 31st October there are plans for racist, antimigration demonstrations in Manchester. There is a lot of uncertainty as to what is planned but we understand there may be demonstrations: In Manchester City Centre, in Albert Square or nearby In Longsight and Levenshulme, targeting Stockport Road. Please stay safe and be aware that the people at these demonstrations may be violent. Be especially careful if you are in the city centre, Levenshulme or Longsight. Remember, if someone is filming you, do not engage. These people are in the minority and do not speak for Greater Manchester. Communities are mobilising to stand up against hate: looking out for their neighbours and keeping each other safe. For advice, see: (links shared in main posts)
