So much of trying to unlearn perfectionism in art is about “No one will look that closely at your details/mistakes” and in the age of ai it’s just no longer true and that makes me unbelievably sad

Once I worked for a company where my manager and the HR guy were very obviously the entirety of each other's social lives and the rest of us trapped in the office were the ONLY topic they had to snarkily gossip and/or use their imaginations about. This went poorly.
This may sound harsh, but I feel like this push that working in office is better than WFH is done entirely by people who have no lives or social circles outside their jobs.

what I want to see: honest, confronting, cathartic art about disability issues what algorithms are willing to show me if I look for it: an interpretive somatic shrine experience about the subversive resilience of quiet gratitude smile awareness.

I don’t want to network. I want to accidentally stumble into someone weird enough to change my life.

felt deeply compelled to paint some Photorealistic Warblers today. y'know, because that's how they look when you take photos of them

The homeless woman murdered in Central Park was a beloved artist and birdwatcher who made beautiful pieces dedicated to birds. She went by Lee Rogers, but also was known as Elise Bainbridge Hill. Her art was awesome. I hope her life story is shared and not just the grisly details

They don't tell you how repairing your own broken stuff makes that stuff feel way more intimately yours than buying a replacement for the broken thing.

What if "leftists" got as angry about disabled people being forced into isolation and despair as they get about disabled people reacting to those conditions with anything other than a smile and reassurance that it's so totally okay for them to have to live like this

"wah wah someone was mean/extreme" I thought you liked mean and extreme? You liked it when politicians straight up said your grandparents should die for the economy.
