My mother was a nurse in the 1930s and 40s. Hospitals then had wards just for women who had survived botched abortions. Since this was before antibiotics, most of them died, usually leaving a houseful of children. She was pro choice and raised us to be pro choice.

A Chinese retail chain has swapped traditional mannequins for real women walking on treadmills, wearing their clothes. They believe this helps customers see how the garments fit and move on a person.

The town of Hay-on-Wye in Wales is completely dedicated to books and has 26 bookshops but only 2000 residents. That’s one bookshop per 77 people. [📹 happyenchantedhome]

I can’t stop thinking why anyone would want a dictator. He said that was the plan. I decided it’s like religion. They want someone to tell them what to and what to think so they don’t have to make any decisions on their own.
