Disappointing to see a cruise ship back in Greenwich running diesel generators 24/7. We hoped that @LondonPortAuth and @Royal_Greenwich had declared a moratorium on cruise ships in London until they had installed an onshore power supply. So much for a climate emergency!
If its good enough for Antwerp it ought to be good enough for London's ports @LondonPortAuth

Been revisiting opposition to the Enderby Wharf cruise terminal for a class later in the week. Dug out this vague promise of an alternative vision from @DanLThorpe in 2018 "we could build a new Peninsula Park on the riverfront for everyone to enjoy" Wonder what happened to that?

Bicycle tourism is a growing sector of the #tourism market and contributes € 44 billion to the European economy every year. Roughly the same as the whole European #cruiseship industry! 🚴♂️🚴♀️= 🇪🇺🚢 ecf.com/sites/ecf.com/files/…
The lovely little green space is so close to where the proposed but now hopefully abandoned forever London cruise terminal at Enderby Wharf would have been built.

@BBCNews @itvnews @Channel4News cruise liners moored off our coast are causing #AirPollution while going nowhere. Fuelling our #ClimateCrisis without any passengers they are not harmless tourist attractions. 👇
The fuel cruise ships burn is 100 times more polluting than the fuel we allow on roads 🚢vs 🚗🚛
⚠️This has a huge environmental impact on oceans, their ecosystems and on air quality in the coastal communities visited by these ships

The fight against these highly polluting plague ships isn't over yet.
Yesterday #OceanRebellion launched their campaign against cruise shipping in Falmouth.
Luxury cruise ships emit 10x more air pollution than Europe’s cars & fill the ocean with sewage & waste. The industry pays no fuel tax.
We can't go on like this
