Last week I went to my friend's daughter's first birthday party last week. She has three girls under four, and a few weeks earlier she told me not to bring toys or clothes because her house is already overflowing with stuff. So I put $75 in a card instead. The next day she texted that it felt "a bit cold" and that she'd wanted her daughter to have something to unwrap. I reminded her she'd asked for no toys, and told her it stung that I'd listened and it still wasn't enough. She said "sorry, I just felt like saying something." Was I wrong to feel hurt?

I don’t need your prayers, and quite frankly, your prayers have nothing to do with my personal life. You cannot bully me into silence simply because I expressed an opinion you disagree with. You’re not a woman, and you have no idea how many women lose their lives every single day trying to bring children into this world.
Mummy Zee is free to have her opinion, but I believe she is constantly seeking male validation, and that’s a path I refuse to follow. I don’t need a man’s approval or your validation to feel secure in who I am.
Women go through so much physically, emotionally and mentally during pregnancy and childbirth. Pretending otherwise or downplaying those risks doesn’t change reality. Pregnancy can be life-threatening, and women deserve to have that conversation without being attacked for speaking up.

When I used to work as a live-in house help for a wealthy family in my neighbourhood, something happened that I still remember to this day.
