I just called Chungus (my OpenAI Dot) on the phone while picking up mexican food and asked it to transfer some Rex benchmarks from last night on my Mac Studio to my MacBook Pro via Tailscale and I just got to my desk and there they are. What a fucking time to be alive.

The secret to getting off of calls you don't want to be on is to hang up in the middle of your own sentence. Only a maniac would hang up on themselves, so you must have gotten disconnected.

TIL: `ip -br address` shows a neat brief table with interface names, states, and addresses.
I've been breaking my eyes looking for the IP addresses in the cryptic full output for way too many years. But no more!
And a kind reminder: `ip -json address` is also a thing.

To calibrate you all on which reasoning effort to use for Astra, know that GPT-6 Astra on low performs better than GPT-5.6 Sol on high.
If you were using high reasoning efforts with Sol and were happy, I suggest you move down to low or medium for Astra.

🚀 Zed v1.17 is out!
Zed now previews CSV, TSV, PSV, and SSV files as interactive tables.
You can sort and resize columns, then filter rows by selected values.
Thanks HalavicH!

It’s so incredibly expensive at usage pricing that while I CAN afford it, I don’t want to lol. I shudder to think how subsidized these subs are OR how much margin is on usage.

August has been a weird month for iximiuz Labs so far. Signups and playground usage are up compared to June and July. But the revenue is significantly down - way below the sustainability level.
To stimulate things a bit, I'm running the Fair Pricing pilot - you can pick your discount, no questions asked. If you've been considering upgrading your membership, now is a good time to both support the labs and get a good deal: labs.iximiuz.com/pricing
Reposts are much appreciated, too!
And if you don't know what iximiuz Labs is, it's an indie learning-by-doing platform where you can master Linux, networking, containers, and Kubernetes in interactive VM-based playgrounds.

I think it’s funny when people say that Flock cameras are ok because they don’t do facial recognition. It’s 2026, people. Every deployed camera network is going to do facial recognition in the near future. It’s inevitable.
the average OpenCode Go user spent $1.14 per day on deepseek flash v4 this past week
the dual DGX setup people are running to do the same costs $10,000
it takes 24 years to break even
at 10x the usage it takes 2.4 years
