Our new study is out today @CD_AACR! Here we show that NCOA4-mediated ferritinophagy is a #PancreaticCancer dependency via maintenance of iron bioavailability for iron-sulfur cluster proteins.

A study from @YatrikShahLab found that as colon tumors progress, L. reuteri, a bacteria that produces a compound with potent anti-cancer activity, decreases. “This bacteria is an exciting new approach to non-invasively treat colorectal cancer," he says.

In @BloodJournal now! We @YatrikShahLab with @ChestaJain5, @AndrewJSchwartz at @UMPhysiology show how intestinal #HIF2α-#ferritinophagy axis can be targeted for #hemochromatosis treatment. Thanks to our awesome collaborators @ManciasLab @SantanaCodina sciencedirect.com/science/ar…
Great work by Hannah Bell, Yatrik Shah and colleagues from @YatrikShahLab @UMPhysiology showing Reuterin in the healthy gut microbiome suppresses colorectal cancer growth through altering redox balance. @Cancer_Cell cell.com/cancer-cell/fulltex…

It was a great pleasure to present a SciTok seminar on the role of intestinal NCOA4 function in systemic iron homeostasis.
Many thanks to the SciTok team for this excellent opportunity.
