The arts are going to play a huge part in the restoration of communities and societies over the next years. Arts events facilitate the safe gathering of people in shared explorations of what it is to be human and what it is to dream, aspire and challenge. They create empathy 1/

Proud to welcome @Tsihanouskaya to the Abbey Theatre today, as we celebrated the Irish and Belarusian national identities. Today’s conference demonstrated Ireland’s commitment to supporting democratic values and ensuring that Belarus remains high on the international agenda.

If I were Michael Carrick, I’d walk into training with my coaching staff and make one thing crystal clear: we’re starting from scratch. Nobody is guaranteed a place in the starting XI, regardless of reputation, wages or past achievements. Only those willing to run, fight and give everything for the badge deserve to play. If that means fielding the U18s against Chelsea on Saturday, so be it. Enough of rewarding mediocrity.

Enough is enough. There needs to be multiple sackings today.

I would love us to go down to the Championship looks like the only way to get the restart the club needs as surely the owners would sell. Fair play to Carrick for keeping Bruno on the bench. #mufc

If anyone has a paper copy of today's Guardian with my beautiful Dad in it, we didn't manage to get hold of one today and would love if someone could save one for us!!!

Animals, at the Abbey Theatre, is delightfully wacky and very irreverent. Very very irreverent🤣 Worth the 400km round trip yesterday, happy to recommend it. And it’s three hours long, so you definitely get bang for your buck. You have till November 7 to see it.

Not sure Conte is the right choice but his demands are exactly what the next manager should be given as what is above that position in the club is rubbish.
🚨🚨| NEW: Antonio Conte has set his demands to Manchester United after talks on Wednesday night: • Full control over transfer market decisions Authority to choose the players he wants to sign • A major influence on the overall squad-building process • The ability to identify players suited to his tactical system • The freedom to bring in trusted backroom staff and collaborators [@repubblica]

Time for action. United fans around the world let’s find a mechanism where every fan who can puts in from €5 to €1000 and we buy the club off the vampires. Max you can invest is €1000. There are millions of us #MUFC #ManchesterUnited #notjoking What do you think? Pass it on

I can solve that: they can both go.

I’ll be lambasted for pointing this out, but #MUFC sold its soul when our greatest manager ever was still in charge. He was the first with the, ‘Theres no value in the market’ nonsense. I have so many questions about the £30m he’s been paid and his thirteen year silence.

Why would you keep a Sporting Director that has hired and fired managers every season with no sign of progress and only regression? It does not make any sense.

Brilliant stuff from Carrick
CARRICK: YOU DON'T RUN BACK, YOU AIN'T GONNA WIN!” 😡 Como 4-1 Man Utd 🏆 Champions League

Yes
Do you think Bruno Fernandes is out of order blaming the staff for the defeat against Como? #MUFC #ChampionsLeague

If Carrick pays for this with his job and not Wilcox then it’s a disgrace. Carrick got Utd in to the Champions League, Wilcox made sure we got knocked out of it.

I want Bruno gone before Carrick
I don’t care what you think of your manager & we can all see there’s tactical issues with United - but you don’t come out & bury your manager like that as captain. Especially when your own individual performances have been dreadful for the majority of the season. Don’t like that.

By the way, let it be known that ALL OF US associated with Manchester United Football Club are the reason why we're in this mess. The FANS — For massaging average players' egos, praising them for doing the bare minimum, and making some feel bigger than the club instead of demanding higher standards. The PLAYERS — For not doing the basics on the pitch, being lazy, and not working hard enough for the badge. The MANAGER — For favouritism, poor game management, and not being tactically good enough for a club the size of United. The BOARD & OWNERS — For going with the cheaper option of giving Carrick the job permanently instead of sticking with the original plan of getting a top-level coach, for not backing him enough last summer, and now allowing this crisis to continue.
