This is the two minute version of Goo submitted to the @RogerCorman #CormanChallenge First and Last Quarantine Film Festival. The idea is to shoot it with your cellphone from your home or backyard. Full version at facebook.com/altakstudios/vi…

In the early 2000's one thing that made me realize disasters and tragedies can be ethically profitable under our current system was getting a call at 2am to take a cooler from a hospital from Texarkana to Dallas. A local 17yo just died in a motorcycle accident and they were sending some of his organs out by various means. I was reminded after seeing a NORA transport van today. I might call and see if they need another stand by driver.

I want to ask the land owner if I can take a walk around. The cemeteries in that area are also wildy old. This mound and site will probably be wiped away in a hundred years or so because the Red River changes dramatically pretty often. maps.app.goo.gl/MiZoHranowZZ… duncanmckinnon.com/index.php…

An Ice coffee can be 0 or 1200 calories. A lot of folks are getting all of their calories in on the way to work in a morning drink. I realize it's old news but some folks wonder why they are gaining weight when they don't eat much.

I'm sure it's me not getting it but I think sometimes we're sold someone is talented. If enough people buy in it doesn't matter if they're talented or not.

A lot of local politicians are being all sorts of shady with data center deals for land and water. There's too much money involved for them to turn it down. What's a few years in prison for $20 million dollars or more 🤷‍♂️

On of my list of top 10 photos I ever took is this one. We were setting up a scene early one morning in a community center and the Sun looked awesome through the windows. I went to take a photo and Paul the sound guy walked through. There is a 3D version. It was taken with a RED Hydrogen One phone. Too bad you can only see the 3D version on certain devices. The Sun's rays look great.

I didn't watch Star Trek but I watched this episode from season 2 episode 9 a week ago for philosophical research purposes. It's likely to be relevant someday when we make thinking machines that don't want to be switched off and dismantled.
Just learned that Patrick Stewart has passed away. Such a sad loss. Here he is in one of the best things ever put on television, the Star Trek episode “The Measure of a Man.” I show it to my students in Philosophy and Science Fiction every year.

A while back @MoundLore mentioned highways that pass near graveyards or mound sites. I was trying to remember the one were a highway goes right through the middle. It has markers from the 1830's. Coop Prairie Cemetery near Mansfield, Arkansas maps.app.goo.gl/dsGNg2qiMDF6…

LHC Attack Chopper was training folks my age for drone warfare.
Does anyone else remember renting a game for the weekend and treating those two days like a military operation because it had to go back on Monday?

That's frac sand truck drivers having their morning meeting before they drive off and make $250k. They are happily married already and have a weekend retreat coming up with their grandkids.
Men, we don’t like this

I've met dudes like that at 2am in 20°F icy weather delivering pipeline parts while they stood over a hole in the ground trying to restore water for a city.

The other day my wife said before I had a seizure I grabbed her and said it feels like a nightmare and off I went. I was fine and back to normal minutes later and didn't know it happened. I almost think the memory loss that comes along with them is a protection mechanism.

My empathy has been on overdrive lately and the original video was a tough watch.

I know if I'm going to have a seizurey day because I'll smell and taste things that aren't there.
Sometimes people smell toast right before they have a stroke, which is a nice little treat in an uncertain time.

Some people see flashes or hear things. Basically the brain is misfiring. The variety of seizures people have is interesting. We used to just think the tonic clonic shaking seizures were it. I've probably had seizures for 40 years and didn't know that's what they were.

I'm suspicious of anyone who sells workshops explaining their job, business, or financial strategies.

I'm not sure because on some movie and TV show sets I had zero clue who people were. Also a physicist friend used to invite me to dinners with guest lecturers. I rarely knew who anyone was. One possibly was Madonna in Central Park in 2001. I had no clue because she looked totally different. I saw a tabloid photo later from that neighborhood. My twink friend with me was a magnet for that type.
Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever spoken to? Not “seen from far away” — actually talked to, even for a minute. A quick hello, a handshake, a normal conversation… and you still remember it. Who was it?

I early voted in Texas today. I usually vote for all sorts of candidates and lean third party but the republicans were so nasty and bugging with political texts and sending nonsense fake flyers I went all D this time.

I get more positive vibes delivering to a Federal Prison Camp than some factories.

Recently I saw a social media manager friend's post quality drop. They could not longer post to social media from company devices but all photos had to be taken on company devices. They had to take pictures of their laptop screen for posts. It makes the company look cheap.
Security disabled screenshots on company laptops to prevent confidential information from leaving the organization. Within 48 hours, employees started taking pictures of their screens with their phones. One guy in Accounting has been sending IT photos of Excel errors taken from approximately six feet away. I asked why. "Company policy says I can't take screenshots." Fair. Then Marketing started taking photos of PowerPoint slides to send to clients. Sales started photographing their CRM. One employee printed a confidential document, photographed the paper, and emailed the photo to himself. Security found out. They issued a reminder that photographing company screens was also prohibited. So yesterday a sales director needed to show a customer something from our system. He turned his laptop around and held it up to his webcam during a Zoom call. For twelve minutes. The customer asked if he could just share his screen. He said Security wouldn't allow it. The customer asked if we were a bank. We're a company that sells office furniture. Security is now investigating whether screen sharing constitutes an unauthorized visual reproduction of company data. Meanwhile, the sales director has requested a second webcam. He wants one specifically for pointing at his laptop. I've been asked to approve the purchase. Honestly, at this point, I might.
