It all started here. Growing up, mum was in and out of hospital. Rheumatoid arthritis crippled her joints and she was on the invalid pension. We lived in public housing. And having a safe, secure roof over our heads meant everything. For me, politics has always been personal. I know first hand the powerful difference governments can make. I believe everyone deserves the best healthcare regardless of their status in life. And everyone deserves the security of a roof over their head. In this election, I'm fighting to defend and strengthen Medicare, for more affordable housing, and for a better future for the next generation.
