Ensuring all students succeed & all teachers thrive is at the core of the #PATHStoTutor Act.
On behalf of @deansforimpact & our 30 national and state partners, thank you @RepSusieLee and @RepDesposito for proving that bipartisanship is not just possible. It’s happening. 🫏🐘
We need to use every resource we have to make tutoring & other support services available to students.
I’m leading the bipartisan PATHS to Tutor Act with @RepDesposito to expand access to targeted tutoring for underserved students and help future teachers start their careers.

Effective preparation is, often, our best retention strategy, but we still have a long way to go to ensure all teachers are well-prepared.
The good news? @deansforimpact and our partners have solutions and are driving change at all levels of the system to improve preparation.

🧵 @ValerieSakimura of @deansforimpact reflects on how we can address subtle yet impactful barriers that educators of color face and how these challenges manifest differently across different pathways into teaching. #1MToC

ALT "High-quality preparation is a really critical retention lever. Research tells us that having comprehensive preparation experiences support novice teachers to be two to three times more likely to stay in the profession. If you aren't thinking about preparation as a retention strategy, I think you're missing a big piece of the retention picture, specifically as it relates to teachers of color." - Valerie Sakimura
