Zeg @RobJetten, ik vraag het maar gewoon op de man af, en het tutoyeren laat ik daarbij achterwege. Dat kan jij best handelen toch? Je staat immers ook in de meeste rare poses op TikTok en Instagram, dus het decorum is allang al overboord gekieperd.
Waarom zegt het kabinet steeds dat er geen geld is voor Nederlanders die in de kou zitten, maar wel om ervoor te zorgen dat Oekraïners er warmpjes bij zitten deze winter? Waarom moet de Nederlander de broekriem steeds strakker aanhalen terwijl er wel honderden miljoenen beschikbaar zijn voor regenwouden aan de andere kant van de wereld? Waarom gaan tussen de 60-100% van de nieuwbouwwoningen naar asielzoekers? Waarom wordt voor diezelfde asielzoekers de rode loper uitgerold en heeft de Nederlander die dit allemaal mag betalen het nakijken? Etc. etc.
Wat ik eigenlijk wil vragen is dit @MinPres: waarom staat de Nederlander niet op één. Waarom heb je de beloftes aan de 'het kan wél'-stemmers niet waargemaakt? Waarom laat je honderdduizenden, zo niet miljoenen, Nederlanders in de kou staan, letterlijk?
Wie zijn premier ben je eigenlijk Rob? Niet die van de Nederlanders, daar is inmiddels geen enkele twijfel meer over. Je eigen handelen, en die van je kabinet, laat zien dat de Nederlander vooral op mag draaien voor allerlei linkse hobbies, terwijl ze met drie truien over elkaar en met de verwarming op 15C, dit kennelijk ook nog enthousiast toe mogen juichen?
Ik zou je graag met de vlakke hand een flinke tik om je oren willen geven, om vervolgens de verbaasde blik die je daarna trekt te beantwoorden met: waar ben je in godsnaam mee bezig? Behalve met je carriëre als TikTok-clown en Instagram-aandachtsjunk?

A good meeting with Prime Minister Rob Jetten @MinPres of the Netherlands. Thank you for the new military support package for Ukraine worth €500 million, which is being prepared right now – this fall. This is truly significant, especially when it comes to repelling Russian air attacks.
I also thank you for the announced €1.2 billion package of non-lethal support for Ukraine. It strengthens our resilience, and the funds will go toward energy support, infrastructure recovery, the social sector, and health care.
Rob and I discussed the situation in the diplomatic process in great detail. A lot is happening right now. In the context of preparations for the trilateral meeting planned in Abu Dhabi, we discussed what we can do together with our European partners to ensure that the position of all of us in Europe is really taken into account.
We are also working to see all political agreements followed by tangible economic results, creating economic growth and jobs in both Ukraine and the Netherlands. Thank you, Rob!

What Socialism Is.
Socialism is not a real model to be applied in the world – it is a contradictory rhetoric used to gain power over people, by manipulating those who are easiest to manipulate.
It is anti-life, because it contradicts reality. Its contradictions stay harmless only as long as it stays on paper. Try to implement it, and they come due.
It postulates equality – and produces the most unequal societies of all: the nomenklatura in its special shops, everyone else in the queue.
It says it frees the workers – and in 1980, ten million Polish workers had to rise up against the workers' state.
It postulates abundance – and gets rid of the people who produce it. Venezuela, sitting on the largest oil reserves in the world, watched its people lose an average of eleven kilos in a single year.
It says the state will wither away – and builds the biggest state in history.
It postulates peace – and needs an enemy for every failure.
"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs." Needs, of course, especially of the immoral, are unlimited. Ability is punished.
Someone has to resolve these contradictions. In socialism, that someone is the police, by force. When the theory says one thing and reality another, it is never the theory that gets arrested.
That is why it is anti-life. Life works by getting reality right: every living thing survives because it reads the world correctly. Socialism switches off the instruments – prices that say what is scarce, profits and losses that say what works, free speech that says what is wrong. A society that can no longer see where it is going ends up where socialist societies always end up: first the queue, then the famine and the camp.
And yet it keeps coming back. Why? Because socialism is not an economic theory that failed. It is a technique of power that works. The economics always fails. The rhetoric never does – on those easiest to manipulate, and for those who rise by manipulating them.
Socialism has never delivered what it says. It has always delivered what it is for: power.
