📈 15.34% Year-on-Year Growth in Rake Unloading
Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has recorded significant growth in cumulative rake unloading, increasing from 36.96 rakes per day in FY 2025–26 to 42.63 rakes per day in FY 2026–27, registering an impressive 15.34% YoY growth.
This achievement reflects PPA’s continued commitment to operational efficiency, improved rail logistics and seamless cargo movement of thermal coal, iron ore and pellets.

⚓ Strengthening Dock Safety & Emergency Preparedness at Paradip Port
Paradip Port Authority (PPA) organised a two-day coordination meeting on Dock Safety and Emergency Preparedness on 28–29 October 2026 at the PPA Conference Hall, in the presence of Shri T. Venu Gopal, Deputy Chairperson, PPA, along with Heads of Departments (HODs) and officials from the Directorate General of Occupational Safety & Health (DGOSH).
The meeting was attended by Shri Sumit Roy, Deputy Director General, DGOSH; Shri Vipul Mishra, Director (Safety), DGOSH; Dr. Ashish Mittal, OSH Expert; Mr. Kunal Sharma, Assistant Director, IDS, Paradip; and Mr. Brijendra Kumar, Additional Assistant Director, IDS, Paradip.
The discussions focused on the preparation of Paradip Port’s Off-Site Emergency Plan under the MSIHC Rules, emphasising inter-agency coordination, hazardous chemical emergency preparedness, stakeholder responsibilities, emergency response mechanisms and the collection of essential information for developing a comprehensive plan.
This initiative reinforces Paradip Port Authority’s commitment to industrial safety, statutory compliance, effective stakeholder coordination and emergency preparedness, contributing to a safer and more resilient port ecosystem.

⚓ Paradip Port Authority Extends Assistance to Distressed Fishing Boats Amid Cyclone Arnab
Amid adverse sea conditions caused by Cyclone Arnab, Paradip Port Authority (PPA) deployed its tug Dolphin 20 to assist three distressed fishing boats, Godgift, Kanak Mahalaxmi and Yernamma Thalli, carrying a total of 27 fishermen.
Following information received through CRC, Bhubaneswar, via the Department of Fisheries and the District Administration, the boats were located using PPA’s Vessel Traffic Management and Information System (VTMIS). The tug successfully assisted all three fishing boats in reaching the Iron Ore Berth (IOB) at Paradip Port safely.
This timely response reflects Paradip Port Authority’s commitment to maritime safety, emergency assistance and the protection of lives at sea during adverse weather conditions.

Paradip Port Authority has recorded a remarkable surge in steel pipe handling, registering 380% year-on-year growth in FY 2026–27.
Steel pipe handling increased from 0.60 MT in FY 2025–26 to 2.88 MT in FY 2026–27, marking an absolute increase of 2.28 MT.
This significant growth reflects the port's expanding cargo-handling capabilities and its continued contribution to strengthening India's maritime logistics and trade infrastructure.
