- the fly generates more than $100K in creator fees
and somehow all of this happened in less than a day
the story actually starts with a real fly brain, researchers mapped the nervous system of a male Drosophila
- 165,122 neurons
- 10,228,000 synaptic connections
- data reconstructed from electron microscopy
- excitatory and inhibitory signals
- an actual biological connectome
@fruitflydev takes that data and builds a simulated fly brain
then connects it to a computer
