I'd say this is an overall better reading experience for anyone seeing how awful twitter treats long text
Mf just sits around and collects Aura
According to the author, the Divine Protection of the Sword Saint was created by the Od Lagna because Reid Astrea was just deemed to be too ridiculously strong.
Because of that, it began to be granted to each next generation's Sword Saint in succession.
Furthermore, more about Reid will be revealed in the story at a later time!

My twitter feed is straight miserable on one side it's the rezero episode 16 discourse and on the other it's DCEU grifters crying about Lanterns. Shit is so bad I can't even see my mutuals tweets.

Saw someone call into the spiderverse retarded man😭 arguably the best piece of Superhero media😭😭😭
What hatred, Hal has been nothing but likeable this whole time he's the best part about the show. So much so that despite loving ep3 we were lowkey missing the lack of Hal.

You're missing the difference between “tested first” and “chosen first.” John's dad wasn't chosen before Hal. The ring tested him, asked if he was afraid, he said yes, and it rejected him. Then it found Hal, who passed. Hal isn't the “second choice” any more than the person who gets hired is the second choice because somebody else interviewed before him.
And yes, the racial commentary is intentional. That's hardly some shocking corruption of Green Lantern, considering John Stewart debuted in 1971 in one of the most famously political, race-conscious runs DC ever published.
Also, wait until you discover that comics canon established in fucking 1968 that Hal and Guy Gardner were equally qualified for Abin Sur's ring and Hal only got picked because he was closer.
So no, they haven't secretly revealed Hal was an affirmative-action consolation prize. You are having an aneurysm over a selection process you apparently didn't understand.
