Some insights into our latest product announced - Sanctum Wrapped SOL
We've talked about Sanctum Wrapped SOL (swSOL) for months internally to partners, finally went public with it last week.
Why swSOL is exciting:
1) swSOL is a net new product in Solana DeFi - no one else has tried to monetize wSOL - a 22M/$3B TAM up for grabs. We project swSOL to bring $3-18M in ann. revenues under conservative estimates over the long-term as Solana DeFi comes to see it as a trustworthy product.
and 2) swSOL is something only Sanctum can uniquely build thanks to its liquidity reserve that lets LSTs exit into SOL instantly. Simply put, swSOL is the Sanctum team leveraging its core strengths rather than stepping into a different lane of product expertise (memecoin trading, perps, prediction markets etc).

Sanctum Wrapped SOL is a primitive that has been long in development at @sanctumso.
While simple on the surface, there are a lot of nuances and complexities to swSOL that we had to figure out.
1) swSOL is NOT an LST. Wrapped SOL (wSOL) is used in size in some of the largest DeFi protocols. To be a viable replacement, the program needs to be highly optimised from a technical standpoint. @datascraper69 has managed to reduce Compute Units (CUs measure the computational work and resources required to execute a transaction or instruction on Solana) to 6k. What that means practically? Fast swaps, no additional program fat to slow down swaps, making swSOL a defacto worthy equivalent of wSOL.
2) Security. We believe that swSOL will be the defacto replacement for wSOL and its use cases, and if we believe that, it has to be super secure. swSOL has gone through countless rounds of audits, led by @accretion_xyz.
3) Growth. swSOL is just live but the real work starts now - getting every protocol to adopt it. We have some deals in the work that we're excited to announce soon, but it's going to be a multiyear growth story.
Sanctum has grown in SOL TVL for 12 consecutive quarters. We believe that swSOL is a powerful product that will help power our growth for the next 12 quarters.

In the past two months INF outperformed the LST basket average* by +8.72% APY,
+10.70% in August and +6.89% in September.
Across both months, INF averaged 5.65% APY vs 5.31% and 4.92% for mSOL and jitoSOL respectively.
INF remains the best place to compound SOL.

Sanctum welcomes the SEC Division of Corporation Finance staff guidance indicating that liquid staking tokens (LSTs) for digital commodities are not securities in the arrangements it describes.
LSTs are essential to internet capital markets because of the capital efficiency they unlock.
Stake 100 SOL natively: it earns ~6% but can't be used elsewhere. Stake 100 SOL through an LST: it earns the same ~6%, and you can lend it out or post it as collateral to borrow for other uses (rewards and borrowing terms vary).
We're encouraged by the growing regulatory clarity for digital assets.
