Greg Alldritt and Damian Penaud in the France squad for the Nations Champ!
A few surprising names in there: Karl Sorin, Jeremy Ward and Tani Vili
A little confused by the absence of Florian Verhaeghe unless he’s injured. Disappointed for Nicolas Depoortère
This is such an incredible piece
Fair play to @SandoNFL and @JourdanRodrigue, so much incredible detail
The amount going on for every single play of an NFL game is ridiculous, not sure there is a sport that comes close

Nothing against Jeremy Ward, who is a very good player, but do not get the thinking behind this at all
France have so many young options in the centres, many of whom need Test experience. He's not eligible yet and personally find it hard to see a path to a matchday 23 for him
Pas encore éligible, le Sud-Africain du Stade Français Jeremy Ward va être appelé en équipe de France pour le Championnat des nations

Injuries stacking up for France for the Nations Championship
Ruled out for the entirety:
Matthieu Jalibert
Thomas Ramos
Manny Meafou
Thibaud Flament
Demba Bamba
Out of the start
Lenni Nouchi
Doubtful
Julien Marchand
Régis Montagne
Shocking news in La Rochelle where a player from the Lions has apparently been found dead in their hotel room
Horrendous for the entire touring party
Even more cruel that it comes on the 10th anniversary of Anthony Foley's passing
Un rugbyman des Lions de Johannesbourg meurt dans un hôtel de l'île de Ré à la veille du match face au Stade Rochelais

Toulouse follow Bordeaux's lead by selecting a TH prop in the second row for their Champions Cup opener
As mentioned yesterday, not the first time Joel Merkler has played lock this season
Fair play to anyone who predicted a Woki-Tameifuna second row partnership for Bordeaux at Kingsholm tomorrow night
Jalibert still out - and limped out of training today - so Maxime Lucu moves to scrum-half
Going to be a real test for the champs against an in-form Gloucester

Had been rumours but did not really think that Thomas Ramos would actually leave Toulouse
But L'Equipe now reporting he will join Racing 92 after the World Cup
The most consequential move of a French international since Damian Penaud joined Bordeaux

France name their squad for the WXV Global Series with lots of new names
Skipper Manae Feleu is taking her medical exams, Grisez and Barrat are among the injured absentees
Six of the U21s that beat England 71-17 in the 6N make the cut, while Arbey and Jacquet return from 7s

A rough equivalent to this would be
ENG: Carnduff, Fisilau, Cunningham-South
WAL: Woodman, De La Rua, Morse
IRE: McNabney, Quinn, Gleeson
ITA: Berlese, Odiase, Botturi
SCO: McConnell, Brown, Morris
