Daniel Murphy hit fourteen home runs across the entire 2015 regular season. He hit seven of them in October.
The streak began in Game 4 against Los Angeles with a home run off Clayton Kershaw, continued the next night off Zack Greinke, and carried straight through the four-game sweep of the Cubs, ending with a home run off Fernando Rodney in the clincher.
He had taken Kershaw deep in Game 1 of that series as well.
Murphy was a second baseman whose glove was a real liability and whose swing had never shown this kind of power in his life.
For about three weeks he was the best hitter on the planet, and the Mets rode it all the way to the World Series, where it stopped cold. Has an ordinary player on your team ever gone that far out of his mind for a month?

"From that moment forward, it meant a lot more to me to put New York across the front of my chest from the time I was 18 to 38 years old. It was an honor to represent this city and the first responders."

Tom Brady says a sports psychologist at Michigan told him to 'quit bitching'
“'Stop worrying about what the other quarterback's getting, stop worrying about what the coach is saying to you. Every time you get in there, you bring the juice. You bring the energy. You bring the enthusiasm. You treat practice like a game.'”
“I started to change my attitude and I didn't have a lot of confidence in myself. And when you don't have a lot of confidence in yourself, you blame other people.”
“And then all of a sudden when you gain confidence in yourself, you start pointing the finger at yourself. I would encourage every athlete to look in the mirror after every day of practice, of game, and say, 'What can I do better to help the team?'”
