You've probably seen weird clothes on the runway of a fashion show, but most people don't think about why those clothes are so weird.
Well, fashion designers and enthusiasts have looked at a lot of clothes, and they end up valuing novelty highly.
Someone wanted me to think about groundwork for a US-China agreement on AI, and I was wondering if anyone had thoughts on what "likely points of agreement" would be for that.
I guess both want monitoring of training runs, and blocking terrorist use, but mean diff things by that.
Some years back I implemented a hash table idea but couldn't be bothered to really optimize it. So I had an open-weight LLM work on that, and (apparently?) it's often the fastest option for hashtables with large strings as keys and/or values.

It's happening y'all. The singapore gov has launched a pilot programme for a gov-run dating service. Looks like the pilot is currently restricted to just government workers for now.
Now there's local AI music generation too, Yue2 runs on 8gb of ram. I guess we'll see even more of that then.

2) I'd been forced to use web frameworks. I thought they sucked. I found it easier to edit HTML files than to use React-Tailwind-Babel-Webpack or whatever. I looked into Hugo and (more recent) Astro too, and HTML still seemed better.
2) That MON gets converted to JSON files.
The metadata from all posts is loaded in the home page so the index is instant. This happens at build time (using Vite) tho at ~0.3 seconds builds are a bit slower than I prefer.
