I started building Astrid 18 months ago & the first beta testers are trying it today It is an unashamedly MAXIMAL VIABLE PRODUCT, a new kind of tool that’s built to be live-adapted in every way as you use it Its goal: unlock the creative potential of open source AI! More soon

Operate under the assumption that every piece of information you create that's digitally accessible may be some day be public Every message you've sent, your internet history, etc. etc. Make peace w/ it. Ether lose your shame or don't do and say things you'll find shameful
Replying to @kmad @matthew_pines
I think we might lose public key cryptography.

I asked Astra to attempt a rough but evidence-based estimate of the number of people who make a living from playing chess since Deep Blue defeated Karsparov:

Would you have predicted this in 1997 @Kasparov63?

Imagine how absurd Kasparov would've found the idea that there's be almost 1000 people employed in a computer chess company or a cohort of hundreds of professional chess socialites

Gossip Goblin is clearly extremely impressive as an artist but his representation is perhaps equally impressive at what it does - kudos, @fableshowrunner!

This is Mila She doesn’t belong to us but we’ve been walking her for the past 18 months & she’s been staying with us lately Tomorrow, while she’s being petted by people who love her, she may feel a gentle prick before everything slowly fades away

Is it just me or is it in poor taste to claim that a model you fine-tuned to marginally improve performance is *your* model?
We're the #1 video model on OpenRouter today!

I was probably wrong in my indignation here:
I’m probably wrong here If Minimax can make money feeding off others generating hype, then it’s probably great all around + their commercial TOS clearly permits it While it still feels wrong wrt credit, this could be an area where the gut reaction is in practice unhelpful

Thank you to @AIWarper for schooling me here 🦾

To be fair, it annoyed me a little bit when Fal did it but when I thought about it they did give clear credit in the name And it didn't really annoy me when Pruna did it because I see them as a plucky upstart (so perhaps i'm just cranky cranky)

All in, Fal's approach is probably the best. Gives the right balance between being brandable to them + giving appropriate credit, shame others didn't follow their lead Would be very curious generally to know what the commercial arrangements look like

Do you see it yet?
You'll soon be able to generate entire worlds as you walk around in them similar to how they create dream worlds in Inception:

Although I mostly believe that this will NOT be with world models

Every post featuring Guillermo Del Toro talking about AI should have a community note explaining that the only reason he got to make movies was because his family literally won the lotto The thousands who work to realise his dreams for mediocre pay weren’t so lucky
Guillermo Del Toro compares using generative AI to racing Usain Bolt in a car #ign30

GLM-5.3 has helped defend 389 open-source projects, with 4,249 potential vulnerabilities found so far. OpenVuln is still running. The service remains free, and findings go privately to maintainers. huggingface.co/spaces/zai-or…

🚨I just discovered something new with Astra + ImageGen and @threejs ! I placed an untextured 3D model in the scene and asked Astra to use ImageGen projections to texture the model, then bake those projections into actual textures and it worked on the very first try! I feel like I’m discovering things Astra can do that maybe even @OpenAI @thsottiaux @sama are not aware.
