So you want to “tax the rich”, do ya?
The LA “Mansion Tax” in its first 3 years has resulted in:
* a revenue DECREASE of $452 million
* 9100 new home constructions blocked (1000 of which were “affordable housing”)
* 16,650 full time construction jobs lost

Columnist Thomas Black on Delta not adopting @Starlink:
"Musk has a point: Starlink already offers high-speed internet on aircraft and has signed up several of Delta’s competitors. Amazon Leo, in contrast, has an unproven satellite internet product that won’t be available to Delta until 2028 and is at a structural cost disadvantage to Starlink. That puts the airline on the backfoot when it comes to offering customers the best onboard internet service now.
The risk for Delta and CEO Bastian is that for two years the company will have to explain to its best SkyMiles customers why the current internet service on its planes, provided by Viasat and EchoStar Hughes unit, is slower than competitors. And that’s if everything goes as planned with Amazon Leo."
Thomas is right. Even if all goes well with Leo, Delta is still two years away from starting installs, with only 500 aircraft committed so far. Outfitting its full fleet could take until 2029, if not later.
Meanwhile, United will finish outfitting its full fleet with @Starlink by next year (2027). Many passengers will likely become less tolerant of Delta’s slower Wi-Fi and choose competitors with Starlink. Delta thinks because it's the #1 airline in the U.S. that choosing Leo won't matter, but I believe time will prove them wrong.

Caught up the other day with a founder that had an M&A offer that would have made him $130,000,000 in 2022
Today, they can’t raise another round and are a bit stuck

The thing that never happens and could never happen and that only evil people predicted would happen has happened again.
A convicted child rapist is in custody after sexually assaulting multiple women in an "inclusive" female locker room at a Massachusetts Planet Fitness.
The franchise has previously defended its policies allowing males to enter the women's areas.

Airbnb's entire rating scale is now 4.5 to 5.0
You can't make this up 😂
Airbnb deletes negative reviews so everything is always 4.7
Google Maps removes negative reviews in many countries as defamation so everything is always a 4.7
Booking sites want you to book so will also happily remove negative reviews for their hotels so everything is always a 4.7
I made a site called Hotelist.com (or HotelList.com whatever you prefer, I have both!)
It gets ratings from all booking platforms, normalizes them to show the actual score (eg a booking site where most hotels are always between 4 and 4.7 means you can normalize that to a 0 and 5)
It also uses AI vision models to rate hotels based on how they look
And it browses the internet for actual experiences (think blogs and Reddit posts) to get the real opinion about them outside reviews
And it's starting to work, I just stayed in this beautiful boutique apartment hotel called Woo Suites in Athens for $400/night. Clean, nice minimalist interior, working cold AC, central, excellent staff, great healthy breakfast, and we found it through Hotelist!
It's free, I don't make any money on it (actually I lose thousands per month on it to collect data via APIs and web scrapers) and there's no affiliate money bs like other booking sites (they will increase ranking of hotels if they pay sites a higher commission!)
Hotelist.com
Tell your friends please!!!!!! 🙏

HILTON: $928 Million for Solar Panels Went to Ballot Harvesting
"A hundred million a year since 2015. By 2025 that's $1 billion. The invoices for actual solar panels were $72 million. $928 million went to nonprofits doing 'environmental justice.' When you look at what that is, it's voter registration and ballot harvest. And that's what the scam is."
