Ok, just got home. Opted for the OCT imaging as well. Verdict is I have been farsighted my whole life. Nothing crazy, but left eye is +0.75 and right eye is +1.25. Right eye also has a burst blood vessel in the back as well. He basically said that the prescription is reader levels, but with both eyes being different, getting a cheap prescription pair would help get my eyes to stop always focusing so hard to see stuff far away. Eyes are still dilated like a mofo and I have to do a zoom call, that I am driving, in 15 mins lol. Anyways, my insurance covered up to 70 dollars for frames, so got me a nice 70 dollar pair, cause why not, and should have them in a couple of weeks. I just had to pay the copay for the exam, the extra 30 for the imaging, and 20 for the copay on frames and that was it.
So have an eye exam today. First time getting one. Can't read up close, need to hold smaller text at a full arms length away for my eyes not to strain and see clearly. Can see my computer monitors fine, but they are 3+ feet away, and the bloom around text is real. Not sure if they will tell me to just keep using readers for up close or what. Guess we will see. Never done one of these outside the silly read these lines and cover your eyes type thing. Going to see if they can do a retinal image too. Wish me luck :)

What a way to start my Halloween. My black cat willow, climbed up on me and was making biscuits 🥰 This was 4am, and woke me up. She then proceeded to piss all over me and my blanket and run off. FML.

Context, shes a clean freak. We have an automatic litter box because of her. She absolutely will not use the litter box if it is dirty, even one pile or clumped litter. No way a human could keep up with her demands. The automatic litter box has been a lifesaver. Until it isn't. It decided it was full and wasnt going to clean itself while I was sleeping last night. She decided to let me know in her own way to fix it. Little prissy bitch, though I love her to death.

Well, figured out WTF was going on lol Geode app says one altitude, our web and mobile apps say a lower one. Same unit, same spot. Turns out they're both right. Kinda. Geode Connect shows you MSL (Mean Sea Level). But on Android with mock location, the location API wants HAE (Height Above the Ellipsoid), so Geode Connect converts it before handing it off. Our apps were just showing what Android gave us. iOS? Fine the whole time. Apple just uses MSL apparently. So now I get to convert it back to MSL so it matches what users see on the Geode and they stop thinking the numbers are wrong. Haven't tested my Arrow, Trimble, or RTK units yet. And on the web side I gotta figure out how to only apply this to the stuff that needs it, because other units and internal GPS can possibly already be correct. It's a hot mess honestly.
Time to go an debug some NMEA strings and figure out WTF is going on with the reported elevations. Wish me luck

So this is not going to be an easy fix, cause they don't have their geoid model public and its modified. So without being able to capture the NMEA stream directly to see the reported offset, I can't accurately account for this. I can in theory let users set a GGA geoid separation manually for each area they are in, but that is not ideal, as they would need to keep up on that, and it's a best guess. Geoid slopes drastically differ depending on where you live. FML, this is really turning out to be a pain in the ass.

Be me. Go shopping for tools at 1pm. Get home at like 6:30pm Need to replace fuel injector in van Spend the next 5 hours in the dark doing said replacement Go through with my new torque wrenches and make sure everything is kosher. Van runs great now and dead fuel injector is replaced. My custom 3d printed plenum covers worked a treat too. Wife is happy, I am happy, Van is happy. Pat myself on the back for a job well done and saving yet more money putting in my time as the payment.

Remember that flock camera I told yall about a little while back here? Yeah someone cut it down 2 to 3 weeks ago now and planted a flag in the pole. They left the camera laying there on the ground and not a soul has touched it. Not the state police, county sherrif, no one. Still laying there, still flying the flag, cops drive past it multiple times a day as it's on the way to the 3 prisons here. Murica!

So my dryer stopped heating a while back. Looked at replacement costs and they want like 500 for a used dryer around here. F that, ordered a 25 dollar kit of thermostats, fuses, and a new heating element off Amazon. Tore that MF apart, probed around and found the thermal cutoff had blown and was reading open. Replaced that, along with the high limit thermostat just in case it was stuck open. Dryer heats again and will probably outlive me. They dont make em like they used too, this dryer is purely mechanical. Also, sheet metal is sharp, go figure. Don't be afraid to just fix your own stuff folks.
