What is happening here?? The world is evolving to protect animals - & regressive India is exposing their INHUMANITY!!! This is sheer barbarism - and we will NOT allow it!!!
Please stop the Control & Supervision of Experiment, Breeding & Trading of Animals Draft Rules 2026. These rules will allow the experimentation, breeding, and trading of Indian animals. Animals cannot speak - we have to be their voice!
Email your objections to: [email protected]
Address your letters to: Shri Gangwar (Secretary of Animal Husbandry) & Dr. Kumaramuthusamy (Chairman of CPCSEA)

Draft Rules on Animal Experimentation 2026, put animals at risk by weakening safeguards & independent oversight. This is cruel, unacceptable and a massive step backwards.

Opening backdoors for open-market animal sourcing and mobile testing vans is an alarming step into the past
India must lead in ethical Animal Free research, not lab deregulation

Extremely shocking. This is not just animal cruelty, it is a complete collapse of governance, accountability and the rule of law. No public authority should permit such horrific treatment of animals or such blatant violations of the law. @gupta_rekha
Delhi, your money built this.
@gupta_rekha ji, this is MCD’s Ghazipur slaughterhouse today: conscious buffaloes hung upside down, live wires jabbed into animals to make them move, zero veterinary examination.
Who benefits ? Not Delhi.
The meat is packaged in Hapur and exported by a private Hyderabad company, while @MCD_Delhi runs the facility at public expense and looks away from open violations of PCA Act, FSS Act, EP Act, and a host of other statutes along with directions of the Supreme Court.
Thousands of buffaloes a day.
In the national capital.
Under supervision of incredibly corrupt MCD officials
This facility serves an exporter, not the people of Delhi.
Please shut it down PERMANENTLY and fix accountability for every officer who signed off on this.

In this extreme heat, let us also remember the birds and animals around us. A small bowl of water kept outside your home, balconies, terraces, shops or offices can become a lifeline for a thirsty bird. May compassion guide us in these difficult days.
We are deeply grateful to the Hon’ble Prime Minister for his compassion.

Before spreading panic or endorsing illegal actions, authorities must first ensure Step 1: a functional Animal Birth Control (ABC) centre in every district, as already mandated under law and reinforced by the Supreme Court in their latest judgment.

Misleading facts, unlawful interpretations and completely incorrect directions are being circulated regarding the recent Supreme Court order on community dogs. The order itself lays down a step-by-step framework in limited institutional contexts.

VIDEO | Delhi: Animal rights activist and BJP leader Maneka Gandhi (@Manekagandhibjp), on the Supreme Court's order over stray dogs, said,
"The Supreme Court has done nothing. They have abdicated responsibility and said that now go to the High Courts. They have simply said that what they said in November should be done. Now, nobody has done anything. From November to now, it has been six months, and not a single ABC centre, shelter, or hospital has been made. Nobody has removed the dogs because they can not. This is technically not feasible. The SC has realised that there is a non-compliance across the country. So, they have now said that we have said what we had to and if anybody has problems, then they should go to the HCs."

Today's judgement in SMW (Civil) No. 5 of 2025 makes the Animal Birth Control Rules the cornerstone of everything that follows.
One functioning ABC centre in every district. Trained veterinarians. Trained manpower. AWBI prescribed procedures. Compliance reports to every Hon'ble High Court and the Hon'ble Supreme Court.
The emphasis is on building infrastructure and ensuring on ground implementation.

#WATCH | Delhi: On Supreme Court refuses to modify directions to remove stray dogs from public places, Animal rights activist Gauri Mulekhi says, "I think it is a balanced judgment. Earlier in November, the Court had asked for dogs to be summarily picked up and removed and kept in shelters, whatever. Here today, the most stress was given to animal birth control rules. It has been directed that there has to be an animal birth control centre in every district. There has to be trained manpower, trained veterinarians, as well as procedures to be followed, which have been prescribed by the Animal Welfare Board of India. Reporting has to be done, and compliance reports have to be given to the High Courts and the Supreme Court. So the focus on animal birth control rules is very, very welcome, and the rest has been left to the state authorities as to how they want to remove dogs from sensitive areas..."
#WATCH | Delhi: On Supreme Court refuses to modify directions to remove stray dogs from public places, Animal rights activist & BJP leader Maneka Gandhi says, "They have simply stated that they will no longer entertain any further hearings on the matter. They have said that if anyone has an issue with our verdict or if they feel their grievances are not being heard, they should approach the High Court. Now, whether people will actually go running to 36 different High Courts across the country, or whether they won't, remains to be seen. In their previous verdict, they had issued very strict directives: remove them from schools, remove them from colleges, remove them from hospitals, remove them from bus stops, and instead, construct shelters for them. None of these five directives has been implemented by anyone...our demand is simply this: establish ABC (Animal Birth Control) centres—and build them properly. The ABC centres that currently exist are of very substandard quality; furthermore, the contracts for these centres were awarded to the relatives of officials. Consequently, they do not treat the animals with proper care. After performing sterilisation surgeries on the animals, they take them from affluent colonies and dump them into impoverished neighbourhoods...A dog that has already undergone sterilisation surgery will never bite anyone. So, if the ABC centres were established and operated correctly, everything would run smoothly..."
