I am done with this shit. It is over. The state of engineering right now is horrible. It has been half a month since I started a new role at a big company. Nobody knows anything here. The specs, code, tests, PRDs, tickets, resolution of those tickets, reports, etc., everything is made by Claude Code. Nobody on my team likes this. They are being forced to ship as much as they can. I have heard multiple times from higher management that pushing code is not a bottleneck, so why are we slow? People are working 12 to 13 hours a day just to press enter. Nobody is reading anything. Humans in corporate are doing nothing on their own. Everyone, literally everyone, from an L1 to an L7 engineer here is doing the same thing. Talk to Claude. There is no sense of victory. Nobody is resolving bugs. In reality, nobody is thinking anymore. Everything is done by LLMs. It is so soul-sucking. I would not mind it, to be honest, if we were at least given the time to check out the code and see what is going where. But no, the goal is to just ship. No matter what happens.
I’d just like to point out that I’ve been doing hardware production out of my home for almost a decade now because I refuse to let go. So… yes agree 😂
Sure, I’ve build a ton of separate machines to assist. And am to the point I’d love to get an AI controlled humanoid robot.

Just drove through Clinton, Iowa, and stopped at @Culvers. After Lara finished taking my order, she looked at my sweatshirt and said, “I’m old enough to know who Walter Payton was.”
I told her, “That’s my dad.”
She freaked out!
Then 17-year-old Ze lost it, too. He told me WP was his favorite football player.

🚨 BREAKING: THIS IS HUGE. THE WHITE HOUSE JUST PUT AMERICAN LAYOFFS DIRECTLY INTO THE H-1B REVIEW PROCESS.
President Trump signed a new executive order TODAY.
Federal agencies are now directed to consider whether an H-1B sponsoring employer:
Laid off similarly situated American workers during the previous year
OR
Plans to lay them off in the future.
And there’s more.
The Labor Department has 30 DAYS to begin reviewing previously submitted H-1B Labor Condition Applications to determine whether action against sponsoring employers is warranted.
Think about the implications.
A company lays off thousands of American tech workers.
Then turns around and says it needs H-1B workers.
The government is now explicitly being told:
LOOK AT THE LAYOFFS.
This is exactly the question companies should have been forced to answer all along.

Bo Jackson won the state decathlon title in high school doing only 8 events!
Was afraid of the pole vault and hated the mile run, so just got enough points in the other events to beat everyone else.
No one comes close to him as an athlete. Imagine Derek Henry or Aaron Donald playing MLB and hitting home runs and throwing runners out at home from Right Center.

Yet Jets fans have the nerve to wonder why Hellebuyck asked for a trade. Canadians attacked him and his family simply because he visited the White House after winning Olympic gold. These angry people don't represent Canada and the values we live our lives by. Pathetic.
#NHLJets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff said their security team and even the police got involved to an extent after threats and online vitriol were directed towards Connor Hellebuyck and his family following the Olympics. Can’t speak to how much that has played a role here.

Connor Hellebuyck no longer wants to be in Canada. He is requesting a trade to a non-canadian market.
It stems from the hate directed towards himself and his family since the winning of the Olympic gold medal, and the team's visit to the White House. It's become so bad they've had to hire security, and have had to call the police a number of times.
Canadians needs to grow up and stop being a bunch of cry babies.
I don't know how this happened, but we've become an emasculated beta country full of whiners.
Canada's decline continues. It's quite sad.

Why is everything that gets shared now a days always have to be either completely degenerate or just flat out negative?
Am I the only one that is actually looking forward to seeing more wholesome or based stuff that actually uplifts you?
Your feed becomes a kind of digital prison you end up live inside every day, so if you're going to scroll then fill it intentionally. Follow people who teach useful skills, strengthen your faith, improve your health, challenge you to think, inspire you to build, create, train, lead, or become a better parent and spouse.
If you constantly feed yourself outrage, gossip, envy, and mindless entertainment, eventually that becomes your thoughts too. But if you deliberately fill your feed with wisdom, craftsmanship, fitness, family, faith, business, history, and people doing meaningful things, your phone can become a tool that pushes you upward instead of pulling you down.
Curate your inputs. They shape your outputs.
Who else is starting to take this a lot more seriously?
