Zuby Ejiofor took advantage of his 17 minutes last night.
Extremely active, showed soft hands as a roll man, and even posted up to knock down a corner three.

With Cameron Boozer, Yaxel Lendeborg, Caleb Wilson, and AJ Dybantsa all having strong starts to the 2026-2027 NBA season, Atlanta Fans are anxious to get Zuby Ejiofor going. The 6'8", 245-pound forward with a 7'2" wingspan averaged 16.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.1 blocks on 53.6% shooting from the field in his senior season at St. John's. He possessed one of the most decorated resumes in this class: Big East Player of the Year, Big East DPOY, 2x All-Big East.
In the league, Ejiofor is immensely strong, and immovable in the interior. He is a relentless competitor that can absolutely punish teams on both ends of the court. #TrueToAtlanta

It’s special watching Zuby Ejiofor take the NBA floor after everything he’s accomplished at St. John’s.
From averaging just 5.1 minutes per game at Kansas to becoming the unanimous Big East Player of the Year.
Zuby Ejiofor transferred to St. John’s looking for an opportunity. Three years later, he leaves Queens as a champion, a leader and one of the greatest players of the Rick Pitino era.
Big East Most Improved Player to Big East Player of the Year. Back-to-back conference champions. A Sweet 16 appearance.
In June 2026, Zuby’s journey came full circle when the Atlanta Hawks selected him with the 23rd overall pick in the first round of the NBA Draft.
His story is proof that the right opportunity, relentless work and the right coach can change everything.
