Trump just issued a memo across the federal government ordering a pause to all grants and loans dispersed by the federal government: documentcloud.org/documents/… While it exempts Medicare and Social Security, it does NOT exempt Medicaid as a footnote stipulates that the reference to pausing federal assistance “does not include assistance provided directly to individuals.” Federal Medicaid dollars flow to states, not individuals, so Medicaid dollars are at risk. With the federal government paying more than $500B of the $800B spent on Medicaid and with Medicaid comprising about 1/3 of state budgets, states (especially red ones), stand to lose an ENORMOUS percent of their funding starting 5p TODAY: kff.org/medicaid/state-indic… Whether you receive Medicaid or not, this will affect almost every citizen badly.
