Midterm elections are right around the corner. How should our faith shape the way we vote? 🗳️ Part of it means considering not just our own interests, but the interests of others - especially those who are the most vulnerable. Our friends at @worldrelief have created a free guide, Beyond the Ballot: Navigating Immigration Issues with Clarity and Courage, to help Christians become more informed voters and advocates for their neighbors. 📖 Download your free copy today at the link in our bio or worldrelief.org/holypost!

Replying to @megbasham
@megbasham classifies any foundation or org that gives a grant to a mainline church or seminary a “secular” org. This is how she can declare that orgs like CT get “the majority of their funding” from “secular” sources.
Phil I just told you, I don't consider an NGO that funds groups that claim to be Christian while promoting abortion and LGBTQ behaviors and identities a Christian org. North Park was just one example. There were lots of others I could have pulled.

This is really interesting. The Lilly Endowment spreads grants all across the Christian world. (350 different orgs last year.) Because some of those orgs are mainline, Megan determines Lilly is not Christian.

Marco Rubio’s speech in Athens was extraordinary. As the WSJ points out, this administration appears to now officially hold the position that the West was great… until Christianity showed up and ruined it. wsj.com/opinion/the-pagan-na…

On Monday we recorded a podcast discussing an SBC seminary dean's call for public executions by hanging and firing squad. Two days later the Pentagon announced it would livestream its first firing squad execution in 65 years.

Words used to mean things.
Q: “How do you define socialism personally?” Vance: “I think in reality, what it actually means in the American context is that you want to replace American workers with foreign workers, and you want boys to play in girls' sports.”

Deporting people to countries they have no connection to is wrong and inhumane. And nope, caring about what happens to them is not “toxic empathy.” Empathy helps us recognize the humanity and dignity of our neighbors, who are all made in God's image. This week on 🎙️Holy Post 740, we unpack the growing "anti-empathy" movement & why we find it incompatible with a Christian worldview. If a movement tells you it's perfectly fine, or even virtuous, to ignore others' suffering, we have questions. Tune in on YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts.

Listening to tech CEOs try to call AI “SI” because they’re standing next to Trump and that’s what he says we have to call it now is … really something.

Help me out here... only male lions have manes, and shaving his mane is the ultimate humiliation the White Witch puts Aslan through. So if Meryl Streep is Aslan... is Aslan a female lion with a mane? Or a male lion with woman's voice? I'm not thrilled with either possibility.

Here's a solution: Throw Christians a bone and have Jonathan Roumi play Aslan! Box office! (Extra credit if they can transfer Roumi's eyebrows to lion physiology.)

Turns out making a joke about “Great Replacement Theory” is a great way to gin up your own “Unite the Right” flash-mob. Much digital spittle is flying from the tiki torch boys.

One thing I’ve never understood about “Replacement Theory”… All the white people that have been “replaced”… where are they now? In storage somewhere? Shipped to Mexico? All the white people I know are still here. Still doing our white stuff. Just in a more diverse society.
Yesterday, @bofrench shared a picture of students at a University of Texas football game. …Indians, as far as the eye can see. White people in Texas are being replaced at an alarming rate. By 2035, Texas will be gone. Here’s how Texas’ politicians are replacing White people.

Maybe we should call it the “People-of-Northern-European-Ancestry-Aren’t-as-Culturally-Hegemonic-as-They-Once-Were” theory. That would at least make sense.

The point Joel, a pastor, seems to be making is… 1. Indians shouldn’t attend UT. 2. Or, if they do, they shouldn’t attend football games. 3. Or, at the very least, if they attend UT and want to go to footballs games, they shouldn’t sit together. Because it scares us.

In 2024, the U.S. resettled more than 29,000 Christian refugees from the 50 countries where they face the most severe persecution. In 2026, we’re on track to resettle zero. For decades, welcoming people fleeing religious persecution has been an area of broad agreement for Americans—especially among Christians. This is why @worldrelief is asking the administration to make persecuted Christians a priority once again. If you believe people fleeing persecution should have a safe place to go, we invite you to add your name to World Relief’s letter to the president. Visit worldrelief.org/goldendoor to sign the letter on behalf of refugees!
