📷 by @phlbikeaction: We are happy to announce that Laser Vision is now directly integrated with the PPA's reporting software! Previously your reports were submitted via a browser automation "robot" 🤖 , but now they are submitted directly via API. What's this mean? It means reports are submitted 10x faster (a few seconds versus nearly a minute) and use fewer of our resources. We are also able to store a service request id for follow up on how reports are handled. Thanks to @philaparking staff who built the API and supported us in integrating!

June Rodriguez, a beloved friend and DJ in Philly, was killed in a hit-and-run at the intersection of Lancaster Avenue and 56th Street on Dec 20. If you have any information, please call the police.
My friend June was murdered last night in a cruel hit-and-run. He deserved better than this. If you have any information, please call the @PhillyPolice! No biker, pedestrian, or driver should experience this.

Lancaster Ave has an inherently dangerous design for an urban setting: wide lanes with an unprotected bike lane often being used as a shoulder. This type of design promotes speeding and makes the corridor unsafe for everybody.

Lancaster Avenue has featured on every iteration of the high-injury network since 2017. Despite the obvious dangers, Philadelphia leadership and @PennDOTNews, the agency that controls Lancaster Ave, have yet to make any real improvements to prioritize safety.

Can @PhillyPolice & @PhillyMayor ask officers to keep the new City Hall bike lane clear? Penn Square is not a place where you want people on bikes to have to go out into mixed traffic!

Thanks to our tech lead Ee & other PBA volunteers and average Philadelphians doing their part, we’ve already completely changed the level and quality of data that the PPA is receiving on dangerously parked vehicles
A new app will allow Philadelphians to report parking violations using "laser vision." From illegal sidewalk parking to bike lane obstructions, violations captured by photo trigger an automatic report that gets sent to the PPA. bit.ly/4lq9KB4

Snap a photo of a vehicle obstruction and Laser Vision will submit a report to PPA's Mobility Access Violation form using location, make, and model captured automatically from your photo. Remember: never confront drivers. Be kind, report accessibility violations, and stay safe!

How it Works: Go to bikeaction.org/laser to access Laser Vision. Follow the onscreen prompts and submit. That’s it! You must have a bikeaction.org account to submit to Laser Vision.
