Does anyone actually sleep the night before their thesis defense? Asking for a friend.

You know you're deep in the PhD when your phone (swipe) auto completes "whoa" to "Whitaker" (a frequently used reference in my thesis).

Now with an official press release and fancy graphics from the fine people @stsci and @NASA :D nasa.gov/feature/goddard/202…
IT'S TIMEEEE!!! My first paper on our @ceers_jwst data is out, and oh wow, was it an exciting (and exhausting) experience! We found the most distant (to-date) active black hole at the center of a galaxy ~570 Myrs after the Big Bang (>13.2B yrs ago)!! arxiv.org/abs/2303.08918

Months in the making, the press release on our @ceers_jwst spectroscopy is finally out, highlighting work from @SaturnsWings @DaleKocevski @sfseiji @Richarwirman !
A team including @RITscience researchers have found the most distant active supermassive black hole yet discovered, dating 570 million years after the Big Bang. This exciting @NASAWebb discovery is larger than expected for so early in cosmic time. #space bddy.me/3O377Hm

Of course Saturn brought its ring light 🪐 Webb took its first near-infrared look at Saturn on June 25. The planet appears dark at this wavelength, as methane gas in its atmosphere absorbs sunlight — but its icy rings stay bright! Learn more: go.nasa.gov/3XtQ5Fr

So proud of the @RedshiftWrangle team!! I've watched them work long and hard on this!
So excited to announce that our @cosmosastro Redshift Wrangler Citizen Science Project (@RedshiftWrangle ) has launched today! This effort has been 3 years in the making. We can't wait to see what discoveries everyone makes!

Difference in steps the 5 days I attended a conference, where I walked a min 2.5 miles per day just to and from my air bnb (8th-12th) vs the 5 days I helped run/Organize a conference at our home institute (22nd-26th). 🤔 🤔

Insert a professional way of saying "That's my girl!" ❤️
#RIT College of Science professor Jeyhan Kartaltepe has gained the attention of the #astronomy community worldwide - researching origins of thousands of #galaxies, studying data from @NASAWebb programs, and bolstering her reputation as a teacher & mentor. rit.edu/news/unfolding-the-u…
