There’s just that delightful moment of “ooh you little devil, you really know your stuff” and then you realize it’s your hands that crafted that. Personally I tell myself that I have to be up to the standards of last-update-me and start cooking again

this is good, some writers change things accidentally & it pulls me out of it. i read a fic where the MC’s moms house was an hour drive away (& that was a major plot point in that chapter) and then later it was suddenly 3 hrs away and then later it was suddenly in the MC’s town
