वाल्मीकि रामायण का एक पृष्ठ भी न पलटने वाले लोग जब सोशल मीडिया पर बैठकर 'रामायण' पर ज्ञान बांटते हैं, तो उनकी अल्पज्ञता पर केवल हंसी ही आ सकती है।
मैंने वाल्मीकि रामायण का गहन अध्ययन किया है। इसका प्रत्यक्ष प्रमाण यूट्यूब के #JWSD चैनल पर मेरी 125 वीडियो की वह दीर्घ व्याख्यान श्रृंखला है, जो सार्वजनिक रूप से उपलब्ध है।
आज जब नितेश तिवारी की 'रामायण' का पहला भाग सामने आया है, तो सोशल मीडियाई विद्वान छाती पीट रहे हैं कि—"फिल्म में रावण का चरित्र इतना शक्तिशाली और दुर्धर्ष क्यों दिखाया गया? यह रामायण है या रावणायन?"
ऐसे अल्पज्ञानियों से सीधा प्रश्न है: चराचर जगत के पालनहार भगवान श्रीहरि विष्णु यदि श्रीराम के रूप में मानव अवतार लेने के लिए विवश हुए, तो क्या वे किसी साधारण राक्षस को मारने के लिए अवतरित हुए थे? निश्चित रूप से वह राक्षस अत्यंत असाधारण, मायावी और त्रिलोक-विजयी था, जिसे समाप्त करने के लिए स्वयं साक्षात् परब्रह्म को मानव रूप धारण कर धरती पर उतरना पड़ा।
स्मरण रहे, संसार के समस्त रामायणों और रामकथाओं का एकमात्र मूल स्रोत 'आदिकाव्य वाल्मीकि रामायण' ही है। 'योग वासिष्ठ' में काकभुशुण्डि जी महर्षि वशिष्ठ से स्पष्ट कहते हैं कि मैंने स्वयं प्रत्येक महायुग के त्रेता में महर्षि वाल्मीकि को 13 बार रामायण का आलेखन करते अपनी आँखों से देखा है।
महर्षि वाल्मीकि के मूल ग्रंथ में रावण कोई कार्टूननुमा दानव नहीं है। वह एक दुर्धर्ष योद्धा, प्रकांड वेदों का ज्ञाता और अत्यंत खूंखार, रक्तपिपासु सम्राट है! महर्षि ने उसकी शारीरिक शक्ति और नृशंसता का जैसा वीभत्स चित्रण किया है, उसे पढ़कर रोंगटे खड़े हो जाते हैं:-
* ऋषियों का नरसंहार: अरण्य कांड में महर्षि वाल्मीकि लिखते हैं कि दंडकारण्य में रावण के राक्षसों ने इतने ऋषि-मुनियों का नरसंहार किया था कि उनकी अस्थियों के ढेर से पर्वतों जैसे टीले बन गए थे, जिन्हें देखकर प्रभु श्रीराम ने भुजा उठाकर पृथ्वी को निशाचर-विहीन करने की भीषण प्रतिज्ञा ली थी।
* नरभक्षी आचरण: जब माता सीता अशोक वाटिका में रावण के अधर्मी प्रस्ताव को ठुकरा देती हैं, तो कामांध और नृशंस रावण दहाड़कर कहता है कि यदि दो मास में तुमने मेरी बात नहीं मानी, तो मेरे रसोइये तुम्हारे अंग-प्रत्यंग काटकर मेरे सुबह के नाश्ते के लिए परोसेंगे! अर्थात् वह शुद्ध रूप से आदमखोर और नरभक्षी था।
* बलात्कारी और निर्दयी स्वरूप: अरण्य और युद्ध कांड में रावण के कामांध, बलात्कारी घिनौने स्वभाव का जो चित्रण वाल्मीकि जी ने किया है, वह उसकी असीम क्रूरता को स्थापित करता है।
अतः यदि आपने मूल वाल्मीकि रामायण नहीं पढ़ी है और आपका संपूर्ण "शास्त्र-ज्ञान" केवल रामानंद सागर जी के टीवी सीरियल तक ही सीमित है, तो फिर इस आधुनिक सिनेमाई प्रस्तुति को देखकर आपकी मति भ्रमित होना स्वाभाविक है!
यदि कोई वैश्विक स्तर पर भारतीय संस्कृति के इस अमर महाकाव्य को बना रहा है, तो हॉलीवुड और विश्व पटल को यह कैसे समझ आएगा कि भगवान विष्णु को मानव देह में जन्म लेने की आवश्यकता क्यों पड़ी? बिना रावण के उस खूंखार और अजेय साम्राज्य को दिखाए, आप श्रीराम की अनंत शक्ति, शौर्य और मर्यादा की विजय का महत्व कैसे सिद्ध करेंगे?
वैसे भी, फिल्म में युद्ध कांड तो दूसरे भाग में आएगा, जहाँ नरपिपासु रावण के संहार के समय आपको श्रीराम का वह रौद्र स्वरूप देखने को मिलेगा, जिसकी कल्पना मात्र से आसुरी शक्तियां कांप उठती हैं!
सच तो यह है कि न आपको वाल्मीकि रामायण का ज्ञान है, न यह समझ है कि सिनेमाई पटकथा का ताना-बाना कैसे बुना जाता है; बस सोशल मीडिया पर नकारात्मकता उगलनी है, सो आप लगे हुए हैं।
अरे, सनातन संस्कृति का वैश्विक फलक पर प्रचार हो रहा है, दुनिया भर के आईमैक्स थिएटर्स में विदेशी दर्शक मूल हिंदी में इसे देखकर नतमस्तक हो रहे हैं—इसका आनंद लीजिए! स्वयं महर्षि वाल्मीकि ने रामायण महात्म्य में लिखा है कि जो इस रामकथा का प्रचार करेगा, उसका विस्तार करेगा, उस पर स्वयं श्री राघव की अहैतुकी कृपा होगी।
हाँ, फिल्म के संगीत और गीतों की विफलता पर मेरी भी घोर आपत्ति है। उसमें न भारतीय लोक-संवेदना की मिठास है, न वैदिक नाद, और न ही शब्दों में कोई आध्यात्मिक प्राण। यह बात मैंने खुलकर लिखी और बोली है।
परंतु, केवल इस आधार पर कि पर्दे पर "रावण को शक्तिशाली क्यों दिखाया" जैसे खोखले कुतर्कों के दम पर पूरी फिल्म को ही नकार देना? यह तो ठीक वैसी ही अंधी मानसिकता है जैसी अब्राहमिक मजहबों में देखी जाती है
दूसरों के सतही बयानों पर रील्स और पोस्ट बनाने के बजाय थोड़ा समय निकालिए और मूल वाल्मीकि रामायण का स्वाध्याय कीजिए। आपको ग्रंथ पढ़ने से रोका किसने है? जय श्री राम! 🙏

TO ALL THOSE X WARRIORS who havent watched Ramayana but have all sorts of opinion on the movie those who spent money and time to watch the movie and found it good
1. They have shown Ravana as feminist -
No they havent, he kidnaps a lady wearing a disguise and one of his 10 heads says lust, you have done lot of bad deeds out of it, He kills his sisters husband even after he says sorry in front of all his mom and family and entire clan is shown as drunk lusful voilent rapacious crowd in contrast to serene, ethical, virtually blemish less Ayodhya and its people
2. Entire forest have become cursed, dark, bereft of life just because Asuras live there and as soon as Rama sets his foot and cleanses the forest, they become green with life and beautiful. Asurs are shown as virtual Trolls or zombies who just live like Filth and destroy everything, i donno who felt any thing other than hate for them after seeing the movie
3. Ravan family is shown as opressed, No, they live virtually lik wretches in Rasathal after Bhagwan Vishnu killed Ravana/s granddad and this is exactly how it is written in UttaraKand. That is why Ravan’s mom keeps filling his ears with hatred towards Vishnu. Mantara does the same with Kaikeyi who ends up sending Rama to forest, though she loved him so much, imagine how much hate u develop when ur mom fills hate ?
4. Lakshman lifts sword on Dasarath and Kaikeyi after they ask Rama to go to forest
Yes this is what Valmiki wrote, Lakshman calls his dad old man who has lost his mind due to love for his young wife and hence he must be killed
5. Parasuram respecting Rama is not how Ramanand Sagar showed it, but in Valmiki Ramayana, Parasurama bows to Rama when he realised that Rama is next avatar and his avatar is over after Rama strings Saranga bow of Maha Vishnu
6. Hey Rama is running from Asura during Kara dushan fight - he didnt sweat to kill them in TV serial
Valmiki Ramayana depicts it even more brutally, Rama is hit many times and bleeding while fighting Asuras in Dandakaranya
7. Ravana is shown as good leader who shares his wealth with Asuras, yes Ravana is the only Asura King who build kingdom of Gold (off course they show how he loots the 3 worlds to get it) and in Kiskinda Kanda valmiki depicted Lanka as so rich, full of gold and how luxuriously everyone lived in the country, so Ravana didnt himself take all gold, he shared it with his Asura clan.
In short, it is an extraordinary achievement in Indian cinema, and give the movie a chance than putting it down due to prejudice, some one who spent thousands of crores to take hindu epics to the world must be encouraged by any right thinking hindu without nitpicking about small things
It is after all a movie and movie always take cinematic liberties, unless it is really hurtful to our GODS, we shouldn’t oppose it
That is why i am spending so much time to write about it, I do this for any attempt to showcase India to the world
Hence I wrote so much about Dhurandhar and will write much more about Ramayana

Every modern depiction of Ramayan shall be problematic for trad uncles. The same kind of people were against Yugo Sako's animated version. No screen adaptation can be exactly similar to Valmiki's. To expect that, nitpick, and ignore the larger purpose of storytelling is idiotic.

The incessant bickering of Ramayana by right wing showed me how much we have regressed. We are attacking a movie! A movie that celebrates our greatest epic. Everything has become a war for us. Why have we become this? We can’t even let a good intentioned movie go. We have stopped choosing our battles. We have become like those soldiers who can’t sit at home during peace time, always itching for a battle. I’m increasingly feeling more and more distant from the very people I once supported wholeheartedly.

कुछ लोगों का नमित मल्होत्रा की फ़िल्म का विरोध देखकर तो ऐसा लग रहा कि यदि इन्हें वाल्मीकि रामायण पढ़ने को दे दी जाए, तो उसके कुछ प्रसंग पढ़कर ये लोग वाल्मीकि जी को भी वामपंथी घोषित कर देंगे। 🙂
