This weekend I've been working on a watercolor simulator based (as much as possible) on real physics.
It's built on Curtis et al.'s watercolor model (SIGGRAPH 1997) with a fluid layer, drifting pigment and wet paper fibers.
I decided to explore this because I love watercolor painting, and when I do some, my favourite moment is when the pigments get mixed inside the water and spread chaotically. The transparency, the lack of control, the depth of the colors in that moment is what I enjoy the most.
So I started to wonder how code could help fix that moment in time and started chatting with my bestie Claudy.
Early WIP so don't mind the look.
